Hit the lotto

Well the Mega Millions jackpot has gone up to 60million. I was thinking of playing but I just don\'t think I would ever win. But when u don\'t play and you see those big jackpots sometimes I wonder if I would have won.

I don\'t know what I would ever do if I hit for such a huge sum of money.

I\'d invest it wisely but I\'d just carry on and not quit my job, drive a regular car and just carry on my life as usual. The only thing I\'d blow it on is a nice home theater system.

I find it interesting when I hear about these "Mega Millions" or "Powerball" lotteries from the eastern states.  If I\'m not mistaken, that\'s when several states organize their individual state lotteries into one collective pot with absurdly low odds of winning, right?  This doesn\'t happen very often does it?

In California, our state lottery reaches 70, 80, or 90 million with some regularity.  Our state is big enough that the pot can get that high without any assistance from other states.  Of course, the odds aren\'t any better here than anywhere else.  Also you usually find (conveniently) that there are always 2-3 winners of such a pot, never one.

^^^Powerball involves states all over the country. Megamillions involves some of the states that are not with powerball.

We don\'t have Powerball but we have Mega Millions...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

WTF? Dude, you can live off 60 mill , you wouldnt need a job or school.

Id dropout, buy a house, and the necessities, then probably have 59 million left. Thats plenty enough. Invest half.

I\'d buy a nice house here (Buffalo, NY), a summer home in Jamaica, a cottage in cape cod for the rents, some cool toys...

I\'d probably give $10 mil to my boss to invest in real estate, he never stops making money hand over fist....

I\'d never get stupid, like buying jets or anything, but I\'d definately start eating better, hire a chef...would wanna live as long as I could...

I would invest a good portion and most definately quit school. I would probably find a job that I liked so that I didn\'t go crazy at home all day. Maybe coaching or something.

Am I the only one who wouldn\'t quit school if I got 60 million? I mean think about it, I\'m not trying to sound like your high school counselors here but an education is an education, and to me thats something pretty important. How many times do old people go back and decide to get a bachelor\'s degree?

Point is, I\'ll get educated, get a bachelor\'s in a field I love, do a job I love, and live a normal life with a little security of 60 million dollars behind me.
