DC2 best controller but so crappy?
« on: January 29, 2004, 10:30:07 AM »
has anyone else had problems with there ps2 controllers. Man my controllers seem to all wear out.

I have 3 dc2 controllers and 1 ps1 controller. Man everytime I am playing a game rite in the middle of the action the game will goto pause screen or controller screen.

This sucks when your playing smackdown and the screen pauses all the time. Usually when I turn the vibration off it will stop this but man this gets on my nerves.

Anyone else had problems with DC2 pad?

what\'s a dc2 pad?

You mean ds2?  My DualShock 2 controller has held up surprisingly well over the past several years, very sturdy.

My first DS2 has the R1 sticking but other than that the thing has been good to me.

I\'ve only gone through two pads in three(ish) years. And it wasn\'t even a pad failure that made me get a new one, it was just that the X button didn\'t \'feel\' right.

Hey, these thing are important when you\'re on a hairpin with 1300hp!

What I did have problems with was the original DS pad, especially on Vigilante 8, every time I got hit hard by another vehicle/missile/scenery the analogue would just turn itself off, I got really quick at turning it back on during gameplay but sometimes it would crash the Playstation completely.

My controller fell on the ground countless times and it still works perfectly. The only problem is thet the R2 and L2 buttons are loose.Ofcourse thats becuase the controller fell countless times on the ground as I said earlier.Other than that I havent experienced any problems with it and I have my PS2 since Xmass 2001

I have a similar problem... when the controller shakes it somehow triggers a few of the buttons, usually the triangle and one of the L and R buttons. EXTREMELY irritating.

I tried cleaning them with alcohol, and I thought I had solved the problem.. but after a few weeks, the problem came back :(

So now I have bought a new DS2 controller, I hope it lasts till PS3 gets here. :D
