Official PSX2 Attitudes Towards "Big Threads"??
« on: February 02, 2004, 03:22:27 AM »
Whell back in my day we didn\'t really care, as long as it was creative.  Like my legendary Kick thread which did not survive one of the early server moves.  ANYHOOO. What is the official PSX2Central attitude toward "big threads" these days? U know, the ones designed to go on forever?  I wanna know cuz I wanna start one, but don\'t wanna go through all the trouble only to have it locked by that gay Samwise.. or some other lock happy doda.

I think everyone is ok with them except for when they get out of hand and stupid (like most massive threads get anyway).

Remember the religion thread?

The Good side of long threads is that it keeps thing together in one easy thread.

The bad thing is at if it gets too long its almost a nightmare to keep it in shape.

If a thread hits 10 pages and there is plenty of interest... then there is no harm in closing it and starting a new one...

Like we used to do with the Graphic Humour threads.

i find the problem with large threads, is if u dont come on the forum for a while, you can forget where u are in the conversation, there fore have to re read a lot of stuff, to find where u are

There\'s no problem, but after 300 or so posts, it\'s nice to restart.  What person who has not been here in a couple of days is going to want to read 300 replies of stuff?  We\'d probably close it and start a new one of the same name (only part 2).
Don\'t you ever touch my cape.

I only get lost in the religion ones.  When people write a ton and I am not 100% into it, I just call it quits.

^^^ Same here Vid. I would usually post in them but they go to like two pages a day and I lose track of it. I\'m selective on the religion threads that I take part in.

I try my best to steer clear from religious threads... Problem is I\'ll read just one thing I disagree on and I have to speak out. I\'ve come to the conclusion that its an endless argument where the answers are discovered once everything is said and done.
