Here is a desktop folder of my videogames music collection.  I record them off the consolde using the ps2 optical output to the soundblaster input and it does digital to analog and analog to digital conversion.  But the sound quality is great.  I put the recording level at 50 volume level and it seem to be where it is.  All the sound doesn\'t clipped (0 dB and under)....
sound recording level at:
44.1 Khz
16 bits
stereo
i use WaveLab and Cool Edit 2000.  I find Cool Edit 2000 a bit easier to read than WaveLab.
