Fantasy Baseball Anyone?
« on: February 24, 2004, 02:46:57 PM »
Tried this last year and it didn\'t work, but I\'ll try it again.  If possible, I\'d like to get a psx2c fantasy baseball league together similar to the fantasy football ones we do.  If we can get enough interest here, I\'ll start one.  So who all would be interested?

You\'ll always have my support, since I do just about every fantasy league with you, anyway :)

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

Two guys in a fantasy...

Nah...too easy...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

yeah, it prolly would be live, yahoo, non money, that\'s how the football one went.

I know me and James are always active, it\'s just a question of getting at least 8 to run a decent league.

Each week you play someone.  At the end of the week, the stats your team puts up are compared.  Each matchup, you get 10 wins or loses.  The person who wins average gets a win, the person who wins HR\'s gets a win, the person who wins ERA wins, etc.  Then you move on and face someone else.  That determines your record, and there are playoffs at the end.  You basically take a starting lineup, with DH, 7 pitchers, and a bench.

Hmm, so that makes 6 of us so far.

Me, Jamas, Deadly Hamster, Luke, Hurricane, Black Samauri

We should shoot for 8-12.  Looks like it might actually happen this year :)

I\'d like to play, but I\'ve never done it before. I\'m not sure how much time it takes, or how we draft.

I guess you can count me in, though. :)

The draft takes a while, and all members usualy are there for the duration of the draft. It can take a few a hours if I remember correctly....

Basically after the draft, you can just check out yer teams stats etc, whichever team has the best player performances gets the most points....

Then you can try and trade, replace hurt players, make switches with free agents, and all that good stuff.

it really is pretty fun. :)

Draft usually takes 1 and a half hours or so.

After that, nothing is that time consuming at all :)
