DJs are getting hammered by Clearchannel

THey fired Bubba last week here in Tampa.

DUde racked up over 750k in fines.  I didn\'t listen to his show because it was very mindless, but it was funny because he always tried to act like he was above everything and untouchable.

Now they suspended Howard Stern.

I wonder how long it will take for shock DJs to get fet up and jump ship over to sirius.  CLearchannel owns a major portion of XM, so it\'s not like Howard and Bubba would leave clearchannel and go to XM.  They would have to go to Sirius..  

FCC is a little nutty at times, but I have to agree with the Bubba show.  I just don\'t need to listen to chicks masterbating on my drive to work.  And I certianly don\'t need my son to hear it.  Granted there are other channels, but just scanning the dial you can get nailed with very offensive crap.

Still get Stern here!  clearchannel isnt the company here, infinity is.  I wonder how many states/cities dont have it anymore.......

Infinity is owned by clearchannel.

I think you are wrong about that.  Viacom owns Infinity along with MTV, Showtime, Nickelodeon, VH1, TV Land, TNN, CMT, BET.  

Infinity and Clear Channel are two seperate entities.  Clear channel isn\'t owned by Viacom, Clear Channel is it\'s own company.

If you don\'t want to listen there are tons of other radio station you can turn too.

If you don\'t want your son to listen same thing change the station.

The dj only exist if people are listening. Your are not being forced to listen to anybody.

And what do I do change the station. It\'s very simple all you have to do is push a little button and it will automaticly scan through a ton of stations for you.

Or you could pop in  a cd:)

So this is what it\'s all about.  Unfortunently, I listened to 5 minutes of Stern this morning and everybody was complaining about it.  Reminds me of Opie and Anthony getting booted.

I agree with freedom of speach.  I know I can change the dial if me no likey.  BUT,  there is no reason why I should scan through the dials and here a chick masterbating with a vibrator for even a second.  This is not Sirius or XM where you are paying for the service and FCC has no regulations.  This is open airwaves.  

Just let these guys go over to paid radio and say all the dirty words they want.

Don\'t get me wrong, I\'m not a prude.  Hell I listen to Mike Church on the drive home all the time and all he does is talk dirty and curse.  I don\'t listen to him with the Log in the car though.

I Stoped listening to Howard awile ago.. It just starts to get on my nerves after awhile.. I do like the Monsters though....  You know about the Monsters of the Midday Vid?

That\'s Drew Garobo.  Hes pretty cool... Actually used to be better when Daniel from the Monsters was on with him.  You really have to Listen to the Monsters a few times.  You really do learn to love them.  I used to be a driver, and I listened to them all day... I liked calling in and stuff.
