Socom 2 #1 Player Name For Sale?

Apparently the guy who has the number 1 player rating on Socom 2 is selling his user name and people are actually bidding...

This is why I don\'t like online rating systems.  So the winner automatically becomes the "Leader of the Regulators clan" when he/she wins the auction?  That\'s such poppycock, what if they suck beyond all belief..

I, being a master of socom, can tell you how much bullshit this is.

The ranking system was designed pretty well this second time, but it has now become a joke anyway.

Most of the players who are CAPTAINS (top 5%) just play in rank up rooms, and won\'t play with there clans becuase they don\'t wanna lose rank....

anyways, the high ranked people arn\'t that good.

And this is pretty funny.

anyway people are just playing in "laydown" rooms - its where in the end of the game a top ranked person plays alone while the rest laydown and let themselves get killed and the terrorist is killed by last seal - well they kill each other - anyway the terrorist gets mad kills and points for being alone and the seals get points for going against high ranked person

anyway its bullshit - ive been in top 5% for a while on two names with no laydown crap and its so hard to keep em their too - trust me its a bunch of little kids doing what they did in socom 1 - cheating there ass off with codebreaker or with no codebreaker

anyway im done venting - and also the Regulators is just a bunch of cheaters that hop from clan to clan so they can be in the number 1 clan when it changes - they never war other clans nor do they play with each other

I play Socom 2 almost every night and am in a clan as well.  I could really care less about my rank, I just don\'t see the fun in doing the cheats just to get my rank up.  My only goal in the games is to get more kills than deaths and to have FUN.

Seriously.  I stopped playing C&C: Generals online with strangers because all they did were cheap tricks that ended the game in 6min, only to make their ghey ranking rise.  No one cares about the ranking except for them.

When this happens I wish I had a teleport machine so I could appear in their room, swing a baseball bat straight into their monitor and leave again.

yea man getting the rank up in socom is pretty pointless as most people know by now - being in top 5% is a matter of luck really - i know people who will get there with 300 kills and people who have 3500 kills and 2700 deaths, like myself, and i hardly move up or down in rank at all anymore - no matter how good i do - although ill drop rank if i do bad - so its pretty gay since i use to have a capt name for 3 months at least

Right now im on my second name which has 3,900 kills and 3,200 Deaths....
Right now Im a captain, for the majority of the time im a captain, playing Clan Wars and playing against "Buttersticks" (if you play socom you know what im talking about) kills my rank occasionally, but I can get it back up if I put a few hours into it...

Also, are any of you guys in clans or anything? if so we should war sometime, so if you are just give me yer Gamebattles ID#

I\'m Glad to see that most of u agree with the ranking system being totally usless. Personally I never understood why people pay so much attention to it. I have never like the ranking system, I think it does more damage then good, and Hopw future games will appolish it, although I highly doubt it.

Ranking system =no FUN

I mean seriouly who cares where you rank as long as you have fun, and play well. I hate games where the objective of the people is not foucused on the team play or whatever the objective, but instead on there rank system.

I enjoy ranking systems especially when I am number 1.
Lets me know that I am better than all the rest.

we just lost tonight to LSD - use to be rank 50 clan - should have won but we didnt have our best guys on - but yea hit me up with a challenge and suggestion and i can show you what lossing is really like

I play Socom II almost every night as well.  I have maintained my captain rank without the rank-up rooms.  I do fairly well most of the time.

I would consider myself an above average player, but I think everyone does.


How come we all play S2, but we never talk about it here or plan to play against each other?  A regular Psx2central room would be nice, or at least post our user names so we can set our friends list.
