Need some ideas
« on: April 01, 2004, 10:17:14 PM »
I bought a 27\' sailboat a couple weeks ago, and am currently moding the interior.  I\'m installing an indash DVD player, Cerwin Vega system and 15" lcd monitor this weekend, and need some ideas of stuff that might be cool to have on a boat.  I\'m thinking about installing smaller tv\'s in each of the bunks, but need some other ideas.  Maybe an XM Radio system, since I don\'t get shit for FM reception on the water, anyone have experience with these?

Which model did you buy?  Do you have a link or a picture?

Isn\'t the purpose of having a boat to get away from it all?  ;)

Make sure you don\'t watch any porn or you risk traumatizing the boat tailing you and getting pulled over by the Coast Guard...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

I\'m going down to the boat today, so if I can remember I\'ll bring my cam.

Cor, it\'s a Catalina 27, it\'s similar to this

I dont really have any ideas except for tailoring it any way you want. It\'s a boat..its already a pussy magnet. :D

On that note, I do envy you as I have wanted a boat for years. My car thing just kinda keeps me away.

Have as much fun as I know I would!

I got the amp, DVD head unit, monitor and speakers hooked up.  Tomorrow I have to install the monitor into the wall, so I\'ll take a pic tomorrow when it\'s all done.

I\'ve never met anyone under 50 who wanted a sailboat.
I wear a necklace now because I like to know when I\'m upside down.

Have you taken the full range of boat handling and celestial navigation courses?  Where are you keeping the boat, and where are you taking it?  To me the coolest thing about owning a vessel like that is travelling with it.  However, I wouldn\'t consider going anywhere without a strong understanding of navigation.

I\'m 17 and I think it\'s cool as hell. :(
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Cor;
I\'m learning as I go.  Right now it\'s docked in my the lake in my town, which is ranked as one of the most beautiful lakes in the states, so it\'ll be good enough until I get the courage and skill to go blue water with it.  I still get a little butt puckering when it heels over to anything over 20 degrees, and  guess it can go 30-35 al day.

JOP;
I think I\'m going to call it the Incolent Bitch.  Only idea I had so far.

edit*
Vid, I\'ll tell you this, I\'ve been on all types of Vessels, and NOTHING gives you more of an adreneline rush than a sail boat.  When that sum bitch leans over (heels), everyone on the boat knows for a fact, that they are all going to die.  Last weekend I almost put the rails in the water, and damn near had a heart attack.
