just wondered if any body ever thought about this..

When you open your eyes and can\'t move.. it\'s called sleep paraylsis:

  • Inability to move or speak for 30 seconds - 3 minutes
  • Speech is difficult or almost impossible
  • Happens before falling asleep or just after waking up
  • Can be hereditary
  • Can be brought on by stress

I used to have them frequently and can have them now if I want.  Like if I take a nap during the day and try to force myself to go to sleep at my regular schedule.. they happen.  And they suck!

Iif you work out during the day and keep your mind busy you\'ll have the best sleep of your life.

I will never forget this one night I was about eight years old... I was having this dream that this monster was chasing me... And you know how in a dream when something is chasing you, you wake up right after it catches you? Well, in my dream when it caught me, I did wake up... However with all my conscious sensations back to me, I must have still been half-asleep because I could feel a hand squeeze my throat and it was hard to breath.

Still freaks me out.

the worst nightmare i had was i had a black shadow like creature jump on my face, as i lay in my room on my bed. i couldnt breathe, i was fighting with it, fell out of bed, made it to my door, came ot of my room and into hallway. my parents came out to see what all the noise was. it disappeared. eventually went back to bed, it came back,  and i struggled with it again. then when i woke up, i was under the covers, and could not breathe... was quite disturbing

This has happened to me several times and it\'s an awful feeling.

I also get the feeling like the air gets really thick and heavy making it hard to breathe.

I always dream about what I think about before I fall asleep. Most of the time I dream about getting in fights or having sex. I once had a dream I had sex with this girl in a cage in front of her family

That level sucks. You should have sniped those damned spiders.

Nightmares...havent\' really had a memorable nightmare, just a lot of really weird dreams. My dreams usually deal with stuff that\'s happening in my life, and find a way to make no sense whatsoever.

i know this one\'s kinda old, but i\'ve been thinking about this topic again...do you think nightmares mean anything when you have them?...yea the question is kinda crazy but i\'ve been workin all night and now my mind starts to wonder about the craziest things!...

i\'ve also wondered if there will become time in technology where one can actually read one\'s mind..what i mean by that is there was actually a device that can catch a photo in your minds eye and produce it on paper....yea i\'m tired...i\'m on some ol sci-fi s**t...i\'m delirious... gonna go get some sleep now...

Anyone ever have nightmares when after you have completed something in your life like high school or college - you have a dream where you think you actually haven\'t finished all the requirements or classes you need to graduate?  I have these every so often about college where I dream I haven\'t finished all my classes in order to graduate.

As for sleep paralysis - I have that occasionally when I wake up.  More annoying than anything really.

I had sleep paralysis once after my last day of 5th grade.

I was laying down watching TV and I felt someone touch my shoulder so when I blinked while turning my head I froze and couldn\'t move. Its a really freaky situation because you feel like someone is near you. I was trying to yell for help but all I was doing was exhaling. Eventually it just stopped and I went to sleep in another bedroom.

damn..i have those dreams too..from time to time i dream that i\'m still in high school and i\'m sitting there actually doin the work!...heh and during the dream i never once say "wtf i\'m not in school anymore!"  :p...weird...as far as sleep paralysis...it seems that all it is is that your consciousness (if that is a word) is aware but your brain is asleep...thus why you cannot move. the brain controls everything, and once that organ is sleep everything else is shut down...crazy feeing tho....
