Don\'t judge a dog unless you\'ve had one.  Most people i know prefer dogs over cats simply because they get more out of them.

Dogs are far far more useful. They are now training dogs to sniff for skin cancer after one owner\'s dog kept trying to nibble off the skin cancer she had which was in its early stages. It was on the back of her calf.....in case you perverts get any ideas.

I never said they didnt.. I answered why cats dont come to you when you want them to.

Cats are very hard to train, their free will is very deepy rooted. Its very hard to make them do tricks etc. But I have seen it be done.

I like dogs, but I get along with cats much better.. I find dogs a little, hmm.. tedious.

A rodent can\'t be taught tricks. That doesn’t mean it has more free will then any other animal.  Dogs have free will as much as any cat. They just have a different temperament. Not all dogs are fun and are wanting to please. Just like not all cats are snobs. I\'ve had cats that would just come up to me without any problems.. aka lap cats. Then there have been dogs that are almost imposable to train.  Its about breeds and upbringing. Not the animal species.

I find that they are about as dumb as a chair.

In the modern world, dogs are probably more usefull.. But what use do I have if a dog can sniff for drugs, cancer etc?

I want a comrade... Which cats can be, and as I get along with cats better they will become more dear to me. When our cat died it was like a family member had died, but then he was 18 years old and had been in our family only 2 years less then I had.

Souly, it does not sound as you got so close with your cats.. Correct?

Dogs have been a companion of humans for over 25,000 years. Starting with wolves. In fact, there are some evidence that wolves and man hunted together. Man, usually being the scavenger. We owe a lot towards them, if that is true. So NYA!

I’m totally baffled on how u can compare dogs to cats.. When you\'ve never owned one.  You’ve owned a cat for years, interacted with one for years and you base your comparison on a few dogs that you’ve interacted with for a few minutes here and there..
I was indeed close to my cats, as I am with my dogs.  I just prefer dogs because they\'re more like a mate then a lap animal.. I can do everything with my dogs. I can\'t go walk my cat. Or play fetch; go swimming with them etc etc.   Cats are lap animals. That’s about all they\'re good for.  Whether I’m close to them or not doesn\'t matter. I\'m talking about which is more useful and imo, Dogs are smarter and more useful.

Theres a saying.. MANS best friend..  Why don\'t cats have this saying i wonder?

Its not like I have never met a dog, my friends have dogs, my neighbour has a labrador that comes over to visit sometimes (surprisingly our cat and their dog got along well). But I agree, I can probably not make a totally fair comparison out of that.

But one thing I know is that I do not get along with dogs as well as cats.  Its all about your own tastes.

I would feel walking with a dog would become tiring after a while, especially in the winter time. Sure playing with dogs is fun (as it is with a cat), but they need maintenance, bathing, "bathroom service" complete with walking. (If I wanted a baby I hit bang up some bi.. )

Mans best friend is his right or left hand btw.

For ME: Cats > Dogs

For YOU: Its up to your tastes
