Just pointing it out for our European friends who think the UN is the answer to all of the worlds problems.

I say we ditch the UN as it apparent that it is a worthless organization... speaking of which now our (US) Peacekeepers in Kosovo are getting killed by fellow Muslim peacekeepers.

Over an argument about Iraq...

NATO is all we need, but it should be reorganized to include operations outside of its current theater.  Make a similiar alliance with our friendly Pacific allies as well and forget about the hollow UN.  It really is the successor of the League of Nations in every aspect.

It seems the UN power has dwindled more and more since the Soviet Union failed. The US seems to be the mediator in a lot of conflicts anyway (not to mention the cause).

Ironic isn\'t it?  I would have thought NATO would have become more irrelevant considering the Cold War is over, but I agree that the UN has become just like most other political entities - corrupt.  This is the precise reason why NATO is growing and the UN is dwindling - NATO is an alliance not based on politics, but rather mutual security.  In this day and age security is now the number one concern as opposed to the perceived threat of communist expansion.  The UN isn\'t equipped for fighting terrorism as some of the member countries in the General Assembly secretly sponsor terrorism.  

None of our current politicans (in office or running) has the guts to say the UN doesn\'t work.  Bush has backed off from bypassing the UN and is now begging them for help - politics at its finest. :rolleyes:

I have read all of this retards posts and have come to this concluson:  

1. He needs to learn how to spell.

2. He is14 :laughing:

3. He uses a lot of profanity in a desperate effort to make a point.

Technically Bush did serve in the armed forces - so your facts are wrong.  Kerry is noted for flip flopping on issues, which I am sure you haven\'t read.  Do everyone a favor and stop posting here until you can come up with an intelligent opinion.  Ignorant?  I think you just described yourself.
