GameRiader you can\'t keep doing that

GameRiader you cannot include games in the future that you THINK will be GREAT when you don\'t know FOR SURE.  On DC, Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Grandia II, Jet Grind Radio, Soul Caliber, Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Adventure, Quake III: Arena, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Resident Evil 4: Code Veronica, NBA 2K1, NFL 2K1, Starlancer, Samba De Amigo, Seaman, Tony Hawk\'s Pro Skater 2, Ecco Dolphin, Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, Virtua Tennis, MDK2, Space Channel 5, and Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear are all good or great games that are ALREADY RELEASED.  If I included the upcoming games that will more than likely be great or good, the list would end up being:

Dino Crisis
Phantasy Star Online
Resident Evil 4: Code Veronica
Space Channel 5
Unreal Tournament
Skies of Arcadia
Soul Caliber
Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
NFL 2k1
NBA 2k1
Grandia 2
Sonic Adventure 2
Seaman
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
Samba De Amigo
Half-Life
Starlancer
Alien Front Online
Bomberman Online
Crazy Taxi 2
Samba De Amigo 2001
Greatest Genesis Hits
Alone In the Dark: The New Nightmare
HeadHunter
System Shock 2
Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
Shenmue 2
Virtua Tennis 2
Soldier of Fortune
Sega Gaga
Sonic Compilation
Metropolis Street Racer
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Virtua Fighter 4
Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future
Ecco the Dolphin: Time of Crisis
Skies of Arcadia 2
Planet Harriers
IllBleed
Legend of Kain: Soul Reaver 2
Outtrigger
MDK2
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear

I think the Dreamcast list outclasses your PS2 list by a large margin, but I may be wrong.
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.

I have nothing against the Dreamcast, but the DC is already in it\'s 2nd gen.  It may have more titles now, but the ps2 will match, if not surpass the # of dc games by the time it\'s in its second year.

I have no doubt the PS2 will have more games by the time it\'s in its second gen, but if only a handful of launch games are good out of 30 titles it doesn\'t look too good.

Also, Sony said that PS2 would bring a revolution, but I don\'t see it.  As we speak PS2 should be beating the living crap out of DC, but it is the other way around.  Sony also said that PS2 would have 1 million consoles down here, and you saw what happened to that.  Didn\'t Sony say that they would have 250 games by next year or something like that?  Well, if they didn\'t live up to their past actions what would make me think that they will live up to their word now?

Blah blah blah...I\'m a diehard Segafan and like my DC more than any other before it but settle down EIAsesino.  You\'re just trying to start a flame war.  They are fun and all but never get anywhere.

DC has a ****load of great games, too many, or so my wallet tells me.  No doubt DC is a great purchase, but PS2 will have it\'s time.  Do you remember that little drought DC owners had in between christmas and summer.  Killer titles were released at launch, but the next big killer wave didn\'t come until just recently.  I\'m expecting PS2 to be a similar story.

It\'s hard not to be excited about the next WipeOut, Dark Cloud, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Z.O.E., Silent Hill, Star Ocean, ect. Give it time...and don\'t be an ass!

Have I ever said that the PS2 is a big pile of crap, or anything similar to that?  I\'m just saying that Sony was talking all of this crap like a ****y punk, and didn\'t deliver like they said they would.  I\'ll tell you something about myself.  When people say they will do something, and they don\'t do it, it pisses me off.  So, I don\'t trust them until they earn my trust.
To tell you the truth I was only interested in PS2, and a little bit interested in GameCube during the summer.  At that time, I wouldn\'t even give the Dreamcast a second look because everyone said that it would die early.  I can only get two consoles, so the best two in my eyes are the two that I will get.
Like I said before, I make people who lie earn my trust again, so until those games come out I will have absolutely no interest in PS2.  Do me a favor and don\'t think that I\'m biased against PS2 just because it is made by Sony.  I basically did the same thing with Dreamcast.  Sega had to show me that Dreamcast was worth my money, and they have showed me with the games that they put out on the system.  Until PS2, GC, or Xbox give me REASONS (lots of good/great games) to buy them, I will not spend my hard earned money on them.

(P.S.:  I\'d rather be an ass who carefully researches what he buys, than a dumb fool who buys the newest thing just to be "cool".  I think it is funny that you would call me a fanboy after the ultimate fanboy, N-player2, came through here.)

Well, PS2 is going to have LOTS of games I like. My wallet isn\'t big enough to buy them all ( I\'m afraid )... But think about it. It IS really hard to be not excited about Wipeout Fusion, Metal Gear Solid 2, Next Gen Lara, Commandos 2, Final Fantasy X etc.

And with the capabilities of playing DVD\'s with PS2 helped my decision to buy the console.

But why not, DC and a single DVD-unit could be rather good combination ;)

Ginko nailed it,

but my extra added opinion is that the DC is the 1st next gen consoel on the market so alot of there games are huge step up from are 32 bit game days, This helps the DC because all of there games are beyond what was par for the console market, as the other consoles release looking back on the DC some of those great games won\'t seem as great as they we\'re originally reviewed. There still fun as hell, but there is some cool **** coming down the pike.

and the PS2 has a **** load more than GT3 in the next coming months, at least 30 titles to look forward to from now till next Christmas

Like I said before.  You cannot automatically say that games that haven\'t came out yet are going to be great.  You have no idea what might happen to the game.  For example, at the beginning of N64\'s life Capcom announced that Street Fighter would come to it.  As you know everyone got excited about it, but the game didn\'t even come.  Same thing happened with Donkey Kong 64.  People thought that it would surely be a great game, and look what happened to it.  If you look at these past events and other examples, you\'ll see why I don\'t automatically jump on the bandwaggon just because a game is hyped.

Exactly Ddaryl. The DC was the first big next generation console. So it blew everyone away. The PS2 doesn\'t have the same effect for some people. It wasn\'t a HUGE leap like people expected right off from the start. But thats just it, its the start. Who knows what we will see later on.
