Well I for one am a happy camper with my new ATi card, a 9600xt but I\'m broke so I won\'t be getting an x800 any time soon.

I\'m not really that concerned if I can get a gazillion fps instead of only bazillion fps, I need image quality in and especially out of games and that\'s what I\'m getting.

But i think Nvidia is winner in the $ 399 price range with the 6800 GT ; 16 pixel pipelines, ps3.0 and slightly better scores than the X800Pro.

So, for me it will be either the 6800 GT now, plus a PCI-e notebook in January

OR

a Nvidia QuadroFx3000 within a coupla months....


or... just waiting to see what happens

PS 3.0 is a useless feature in the NV40 since it\'s not mature enough. When the NV40 was running Far cry in PS 3.0 FP32 the game was getting 15fps max. The problem is 3.0 uses FP32 which takes a major hit on the gpu\'s performance, like I said,
the Hardware PS3.0 is in its premarital state, although it is a nice PR selling point.

Actually I tried that in UT2004 and it did surprisingly well, no slow downs, not fast by any means but much better that I expected.

But what I need are good colors because I do a lot of photoshopping and I can see a big difference between my 9600 and a 5900 card I tried.
