Can someone give me some hints and tips how to "open" the PS2 console , as there are no screws visible.

Look for the usual screws to unscrew... and there probably is a "Void Warranty if Removed" sticker that is glued on top of another screw.

There are screws under the little plastic squares underneath the console.

Oh, and when you take the top-part of.. remember to be gentle so you don’t rip the cords ogg that lead to the eject/power buttons.

I foound the screws under the SQUARE PLASTICS.

I needed to open the box in order to ckean the leaser eye, the two guiding shafts of the laeser assembly, the bronze bearings on the right side of the eye assembly and the pinion shaft connected to the servo motor.

It was cleaned and lucricated !

The PROJECT was finished succesfully !

The "Jumping" and the "Stucking" that was happen before was elimenated.

Taking it apart to clean the lens/cd,dvd assy is the BEST way to do it, if you know how to.

Rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and GENTLE wiping of eye clears up so many read issues.
