Network Adapter
« on: June 17, 2004, 06:30:38 AM »
I just recently bought a network adapter for my ps2(along with Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow). After hooking it up(my computer with broadband and my ps2 are in 2 separate rooms) it worked fine.My question:

When I play a game offline(a normal singleplayer game) can I leave the cable in the network adapter or do I have to unplug it?I\'ve noticed that the lights aren\'t lit(above the cable) when I played SC - PT singleplayer so I suppose I could just leave it in.But then I thought maybe the ps2 slows down when you leave the cable in because it makes more noise now.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanx.

it makes more noise with the adaptor installed?  Weird...

I never unplug mine from the ethernet cable.  Offline games (or offline modes in online games) shouldn\'t be effected at all.

It\'s not the noise that bothers me.I mean there is an extra device attached to the ps2 so it has to process more. Therefore it\'s more noisy.

Thanx for the reply and other people with network adapters,don\'t hesitate to enlighten me      :fro:

I never unplug mine either.... Ofcourse, all I every play are online games anymore haha.

Thats my only compaint about online gameplay... Its way more fun playing online so its hard to play single player games.. I think I have 3 or 4 games that I have hardly even touched

Jak II - unfinished, about 78% finished
Legacy of Kain, Defiance - about 2 hours in
Ico - played 30 mins or so
Prince of Persia - maybe an hour into it

SOCOM ofline - didnt even really touch it

SOCOM ONLINE - probably over 200 hours of logged gameplay for both one and two

Final Fantasy online - 8 days, 9 hours, 46 minutes of logged gameplay.

yeah man, i\'m the same way.  All I basically play is Madden & Socom 2 Online.  I don\'t know if i\'ll ever go back to single player offline games again.  Although i\'m sure I will if the game is amazing.
