Do you guys remember the old playstation ads?  I can\'t seem to find anything on the net to reference.

I remember these...

URNote

Live in your world.
Play in ours.

Do you guys remember exactly how they looked, case font and everything?

^I don\'t remember that one at all.  I\'m just thinking of ways to incorporate some of their stuff into the site I\'m building for a school project.

I have to make some flash work so I figured Sony\'s ads could give me some inspiration.

While I\'m here, which sounds better:

One of my favorite PS2 ads was the fake "PS9" commercial.  It was an ad for when the PS2 was comming out... It was cool :)

I vaguely remember the PS9 commercial.  I do recall a mermaid floating in front of a guy and something about the year 2085 or something like that.

Yes Sir, I do..

U R NOT E

I also remember the Sophia AD\'s that Sony ran , back durin\' the launch of the PSX (Sophia = Battle Arena Toshiden character).

If I had a scanner, I could dig out some old magazines with the ad\'s in them, but I don\'t.
:(

Oh and dump the whole "PSX" thing. Infact, I wouldn\'t even bother making a PS2 site this late into it\'s life. Go ahead, think about the future and make a PS3Evo.com site .

Damn...got the UR NOT E thing messed up but I think the way I have it still works.  I can go back and easily edit it if I need to.

Just a PS3 site...it would cut down on the scope of the project and be less maintenance if I decided to go live with it.  I\'ll have to make a decision soon, I have to present the concept, methodolgy, and rough design this Wednesday...

Here is a mock up of the header and navigation design so far.  Will take a while to load since it\'s all high quality jpegs at the moment.

Please tell me what you think.  You have a ways to go buddy OR leave it alone, it\'s perfect!

About the ps adverts: I really liked how they really made the ps seem like the "underground" system with things you wouldnt traditionally find elsewhere. The sort of rebel or techno underground vibe you got when you popped in your new demo from the PSU (playstation underground).

Sadly, today, its been very corporate etc, and even the PSU is very polished and refined in attitude and appearance. You just dont see that edge that the ps had. One thing i think that contributes to this in this generation is just the fact that the gaming world is very fixated on graphics and since the ps2 isnt very small dev friendly, we dont get to see all those unique or sleeper hit titles.

Drop the \'X\' in "PSX". Seriously, it is so very overdone and every friggin\' PS site has "PSX" something... If you want to do   about the PS3, call it PS3EVO.com or something. Which, if you do decide to go live with a site, I think your best bet would be to start and cater to the next generation of Sony products. The current platform is more than covered with all the sites and forums out there, but when it comes time for the PS3 or even the PSP, you will have a head start and a communuity growing.
