DNS error (Network Adapter)

:sconf:

I have no router that\'s why I went the ICS way and followed the guide on how to set up a ICS connection at the Network Guide section on the official Playstation website.

I have all the right cabling etc, because I can play online with Xbox using Xbox connect. Do you recommend me buying a router? And if I fork out for one, should I then be able to get connect to Central Station. And you know, actually play some games online without all these problems?

try putting your PC\'s IP as the gateway and not 192.168.0.1

i have a origo 8400 router with AOL...

On my old network disk i get 5 green lights and it runs fine with champions of norrah...But i can\'t connect to Central Station...

I phoned Sony and they said that i had a software problem with the setup disk... they mailled me a newer version through the post.

Got it yesterday and tryed the diagnostic ...but this time it fails on the 4th test....(transroute test)...

Phoned sony again...they said not to worry about the one fail as the DNS,PING and sonys DNAS connection tests all past\'ed.

Loaded up Central Station on the new disk... this time the sofware was more stable...it loads....connects to the DNAS...then nothing...except a Blank Blue screen...

5 minutes leter it says it can not connect to the network...

i phoned sony again and they said not to worry because even WITH the new disk Central Station can be tempermental.

they said the Blank screen is OK but from time to time you will get the "can not connect to the network" message.

Anway... i tryed againa and again and still no joy :(....

Can\'t understand it it works fine and well with champions of noraah

You have to use a crossover cable on the one that goes from the ps2 to the second nic on the cpu or go buy a cheapy hub 30 bucks or less and go a straightthrough cable to the uplink on the hub and then connect the PSX2 to the hub also using a straightthrough.

He has to use the 192.168.0.1 because the ps2 is connected to that nic and wont be able to reslove past it.

My network disc and adapter have been put into storage until I can get hold of a router.

trust me...getting a router means you don\'t have to worry about having your PC on when you want to playthe PS2.

Also once its setup thats you.
