Yes, you can, Vivi.  The lowest requirements are a GeForce 3 with a pentium 4 1.5 ghz.  Your athlon and your videocard exceed both.

Maybe he could, maybe. Does the GF4MX420 support pixel shaders? nVidia\'s site seems to think not.

According to ID, all GF4MX cards are supported.  Here\'s what I dug up on Gamespot:

Minimum System: According to id, the minimum requirements to run Doom 3 are (As of 7/29/04):

DX 9.0-compatible 3D card w/ 64MB RAM
MS Windows 2000/XP
Pentium 4 1.5GHz or Athlon XP 1500+
384MB RAM
8x CD-ROM
2.2GB of HD space
Broadband (for multiplayer)

Supported 3D graphics chipsets:
ATI: Radeon 8500, 9000, 9200, 9500, 9600, 9700, 9800
Nvidia: GeForce3, GeForce4 MX, GeForce4 Titanium, GeForce FX, GeForce6

Overclock your CPU, and buy a used Ti-4200 or something similar for under $80 and overclock that too!

I just upgraded to a hold-over card. (in between my former GF3 and future GF6) Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB.

$230 at Microcenter.com, and it\'s worth the price. Above $230, I\'d go all out for a 6800GT/Ultra.

Cyrus: If you ever do try one, make it D3. I have not heard one truly negative thing about it.

Ryu: I\'ll probably be able to run it at 10x7 or 8x6 at Medium/High quality at the framerate I want, then double it with the 6800U in a few months so I\'m happy. Also, the GS online deal is soooo much better for D3.

You don\'t pay taxes and you don\'t pay for shipping.. and you don\'t have to go to the local GameStop.

Just sit on your ass and save the $5 sales tax. Maybe I\'ll get a free t-shirt too, they owe me. I\'ve gotten two t-shirt bonuses.. one was for the wrong game and another didn\'t come. I don\'t care that much though, because I ordered a D3 shirt through idsoftware.com already anyway.
