More Nintendo DS games announced
« on: August 10, 2004, 03:02:25 PM »

Nintendo has been announcing DS games and I just had an idea that EA should do for Madden. The game will use the system\'s wireless multiplayer function, but I think the touch screen would be useful, too.

When picking plays, the playbook can appear on the touch screen, or expand down into it as players move through the menus.

There, gamers could have the ability to modify the routes of the players with the stylus. EA could at least make a precise, create-a-play feature using the touch screen...

At least it\'s a new idea... I think. ;]

Project Rub...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

I havent had a handheld since game gear. The PSP got me excited about handheld gaming again for the first time since Neo Geo Pocket Color. The only thing about it, is that its library isnt all that original. I was let down by a couple of things but it still looks interesting to me.

If Nintendo can provide good use of the dual screens with their generaly innovative games then ill consider it. That and both battery life and price. I have yet to see a good use of the dual screens but hopefully i will see one before its launch.

BTW. when is that?

Launch is this holiday season. So far Nintendo is tight lipped on dual screen applications, either to guard its hand or because it has nothing to show.

Though a price hasn\'t been set I\'d guess at $129.99 and cheaper than PSP.

We\'ll see.

My guess there is nothing to show. Honestly, I can\'t see there be many compelling reasons to have a dual screen / touch screen. Infact, I think most adventure / action games will simply use the dual screen as a map or something to that effect.

Every once in awhile Nintendo get\'s a wild hair up it\'s ass to do something they think is original, but it turns into a failure - see: Virtual Boy.
