2 Storms? Oye...

It looks like the storm is passed Orlando and heading out into Daytona and the Atlantic.  I\'m going to wait until tomorrow to see how much damage has been done to our area.  MPTheory\'s video should be interesting.  He was closer to the eye than I was.

We had nothing to take video of.  It actually looked like Charley hit inside our house.  It\'s amazing what can happen to a house when there is nothing to do any you are stuck inside all day.

Charley completely missed Tampa and made me realize once again that weather people are completely useless.

Not only did this state waste millions of dollars preparing for this storm in Pinellas and Hillsborough, but they seem to be unprepared in the area hit.

I saw this morning that the emergency operations center in Punta Gorda is inoperable.  Well that sure is excellent work guys.

That town is fizucked.  Big cities can handle that type of devistation, but down there is where we keep all the old farts.  That\'s why there are so many mobile homes.

The storm came over at night so there probably won\'t be much good video.  Maybe he got something though.

I hope he did, I wanna check it out too.

Well, we survived the storm.  Originally the eye of the storm was supposed to go right through our front door, (we live about 40 miles North West of Orlando), but it went straight through Downtown Orlando instead.  

We were just in the Punta Gorda area two weeks ago visiting some friends that live there.  We found out this morning that they survived.  Their house is right on the water in Port Charlotte. They evacuated to a friend\'s house that was a few miles inland and thought that they would safely ride out the storm there.   When it hit with 145 mile an hour winds, everyone in the house (including the dogs) apparently huddled in a walk- in closet.  They drug a sofa inside some how and wedged it againt the door to keep the door from blowing in.  All the windows in the house were blown out, and part of the roof was peeled away.  

The ironic part about it is that when it was all over, they went back to thier own house to assess the damage, and it was practically untouched.  LOL

We have accounted for all of our friends in Orlando.   Everybody is a bit shaken up but OK.  TONS upon TONS of huge trees down everywhere.  Powerlines are down.  Phones are down.  It is apparently difficult to get anywhere with out some manuvering.  

Crazy stuff.  

MPT did take video, but he hasn\'t been able to post anything because of the power outages last night.   He says that as soon as he gets power back he will post again.

well.. I just got home froma  post hurricane party.. The parts of Orlando that I live in is pretty bad.. im a little on the invompasitated sitde, so tyomorrow, Ill post some of the video that i tood.   ( I had tghe night vision on so you can actually see what the hell is goiong on. ) it was pret y  ctrazy last night,,, talk to you guys tomottow

Does he even have power?  Lots of places are gong to take several days to get power back.

I don\'t know if MPTheory\'s power is back on yet.  I know that a large portion of Orlando\'s power is out and will take about 10 days to restore.

I went to the post-hurricane party with MPTheory in Orlando, and there were a bunch of auto accidents at intersections where the traffic lights were out.

I bought food at a Publix that was pulling power from a generator.  It was dark inside and they were not allowing people to buy frozen food.  All the SPAM was selling out.  I guess people think of SPAM as an emergency supply. Flashlights, batteries, water, and SPAM.

Yes, plenty of Illegal Immigrants up here, tryin\' to make their way...makes for some damn good Mexican Food, though. Arturos kicks ass.

Not a lot of Cousin f**ing here in Lincoln, though. Well, eh...except for this time with my cousin and her 2nd cousin that...well, I don\'t wanna talk about it.
