Opening Ceremonies
« on: August 14, 2004, 03:51:36 AM »
Any of you watch them?  Personally I thought they were the best I had ever seen.

Usually they come out with whacked shit that makes no sense to 99% of the world, but what they did was pretty sweet.

I really thought that big face that came out of the ground was pretty damn neat.

And the parade they had with the evolution of the olympics going from statuesque people to modern people was very cool.

The parade of nations looks much better in fast forward.  Damn that\'s a boring couple hours.

We\'ve also taken a vid household poll and the torch looks like a big doobie.

I guess a country wanting to share its\' culture and background with the world is flat out gay.  Never mind that Athens is where it all started...what an ass.

It was the most impressive show I\'ve ever seen on that scale.  Very well done.

My favorites were the big statue, the parade of past, present, and future Greece, and then Bjork\'s dress covering all the athletes with a picutre of the world.

IDEA:  Next opening ceremony should consist of a huge pit with all the nations throwing in a gallon of gas, then the host nation should throw in the match.  Boom..... touch is lit, game on.

Yes.

I described it as a cigarette, but only because I didn\'t want to refer to it as a joint when I was talking to my mom.

I think the whole thing is gay and stupid. I say ban the whole f**kin\' thing, it\'s f**kin\' worthless. It\'s nothing but a bunch of f**kin\' horseshit, ya know? I mean, who the f**k cares about that shit now\'a\'days?

Haha, wow that was refreshingly negative.

I dig the Olympics. I saw a bit of diving and one dude on the rings. It\'s good fun.

I like the summer games better than the winter ones. I can appreciate a guy running fast or swimming fast, but when a kid I went to school with can bring home a silver in snowboarding, that\'s just pathetic. You have a bunch of losers in baggy clothes tainting the winter games.

Hopefully the competition there ramps up noticeably.

Course, I only noticed this year that table tennis is a summer game, heh.

It\'s all good though.

A lot, but it\'s not like it\'s in a poor desolate country where the people still shit in holes.

I taped it because I was at work. I\'ll watch it when I get a chance. And yes, winter olympics own summer olympics.
