USA gets beat buy Rico????

Adan you don\'t know what you\'re talking about. Why would they refs (according to you) go for the Americans, the most hated country in the world? Why would they go for a team that has always dominated the sport? So far Ive seen tons of ghost fouls on Duncan, seeming to take him out of the game. And Jumpman is right, perhaps the reason US won today is because they are more of a team they were before. I mean they\'ve only been playing for about a month together.

Playing for Bronze now.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Smoked by Argentina. When it got down to it, the US couldn\'t the Argentinians from making a basket at a crucial point to start a rally to get going, and the US couldn\'t hit a shot period.

In the 4th, when the US actually looked relatively alive, they couldn\'t stop the Argentine Role Players from makin\' the baskets to stop the charge. A pity, really.

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

Well I am not going to pound all over the USA team. The guys tried. Just where not the better team. These guys actually went out there and they did not have to go. A lot of people have been talking shit about these guys. I told my uncle you can\'t play have a shit. To be dising our guys. Damn out of all the guys that said **** usa these guys gladly went. I wish people would quit bitchin.

Just got outplayed. I could not have represented my country any better so I won\'t dis the guys.

The nba throws these guys together and just expects them to win. While the other teams have been togther playing with eachother for who knows how long.

Im not too upset. Afterall, Ginobli (who signed a 7 year contract with the spurs) played well and I hope he can bring that to the spurs this year.

What an awful idea. The best players they can send play professional ball in the nba. There is no other league of better players.

The NBA has to do a better job of getting guys to want to play for team USA.

And if you can\'t get the top talent in the nba then choose a more rounded group of guys.

Totally wrong.  The problem isn\'t the talent at all.  The problem is the time spent together and how we gelled as a team.  I would much much rather watch a group of college kids play as a team than a group of NBA players play like they did this year.  These olympics proved individual talent isn\'t what matters, it\'s team play and tough D.  The NBA players come in and don\'t play as hard as the kids.  I hate watching it.

You put the the top 12 guys in the nba on the dream team and I guarantee they will win. Or a better roster. How about getting Oneal and artest off the pacer. Where is baron davis? Ray allen, Michael Redd, Paul pierce, Ben Wallace. I mean come on guy.

This year there was really nobody on this team that could shoot the ball. Larry brown did not play the 4 rookies he had on the team hardly at all. So I see no reason to even have them on the team.  Amare Stoudemire and boozer are not defensive power houses so Duncan was left to do all the work.  They did not guard the perimeter good. Horrible off the pick and role. I mean to say they didn\'t play hard is just rather odd. And not diserving for this team.

They played the best they could considering the mesh of guys.

But the whole point is you\'re never gonna get the top 12 guys in the NBA again.  As for your where is statement, some of those guys WERE invited and rejected the invite.  Ray Allen was.  Jermaine O\'Neal was.

Then you have Paul Pierce and Baron Davis.  If you wanna know why they aren\'t on the team, look no further than the 2002 world championships.  They were on the team, and they were completely wrong for it.  Ben Wallace was on that team too I think.

The problem with this team isn\'t that there isn\'t enough talent on it, it\'s that there is too much talent on it.  Everyone on this team is used to being the star.  People don\'t know how to lean on others cause they never have had to.  They don\'t know how to play low minutes for the same reason.  You keep Duncan, Iverson, Wade.  You don\'t keep so many people with the same game.  LeBron or Carmelo, not both.  Marion or Jefferson, not both.  You leave off Marbury, not the right sorta point at all.

As for who you do invite, you invite people who know how to pass, people who can hit outside shots, people who can play D, and people who play with energy.  Specialists.  Michael Redd for sure.  I\'d invite defensive specialists.  Ron Artest, even like Tayshawn Prince.  Put him on their best scorer.  He\'ll provide D, he\'ll provide energy.  Put on some people who know how to be role players.  That\'s what we need.  Blah, the current team makes me sick.

I was thinking that we should have sent the NBA champs to the olympics, but I started to think. What if the Spurs won? Parker is from France, Ginobli is from Argintina, Turkoglu from Turkey, and Nesterovic from Slovenia. Same goes for teams like the Mavs and Kings. I think we should continue with the NBA teams, but actually put more thought into it, and actually have some top players step up. Like Shaq Kidd and KG.

That would be a good idea but you can\'t force the champs to go. What if the top the guys on the roster don\'t wanna play?

The funny thing is if Kobe doesn\'t cheat on his wife in Colorado, we prolly aren\'t having this conversation.  He would be on the team, and things might have been different, since he is a much better outside shooter.

Still though, I think that the first thing you have to change about the US olympic team is the people who select it.
