XBOX vs. PS2 vs. Gamecube
« on: August 27, 2004, 10:45:35 PM »
Ok, let\'s here the battle between which system is better. I wanna hear pro\'s and con\'s of the consoles, i wanna hear pro\'s and con\'s of the game selection. Don\'t leave leave anything out.
We\'ll go by points. You can give up to 10 points. They\'re 3 categories. Not in each category. Like added up together. Just read on.... than you will understand my yammer.

Console/Gizmos = How it holds up in the longrun. The gadgets it comes with when you get it. Or that you can add. etc.

Game selection = The different types. How many you can choose from. That good ol\' stuff.

Style = How appealing is it to you. Is it ugly? Big? Or just plain boring.
XBOX ->
I\'m pretty even minded. I like all system\'s a ton. XBOX may have a more high-tech console and may have a cooler system layout and such. They have many great shoot em\' up games. But the other games they put out lost my interest. Oh, and the controllers are ungawdly uncomfortable. The styling is quite unique. Not like its other competitors.

+4 for Console. 3 in Game Selection. 3 for style.

PS2 ->
Now, the PS2. IT has a cool shape to the console. But i find it gets boring after a while. The contollers are alright. I dont really know what else to say about them. The game selection is orgasmic. They have many great RPG\'s, great shoot em\' games. The list can go on for days. There is quite a bit of things you can buy to improve your PS2, not enough to satisfy my flava.

3 for Console. 6 Game Selection. 1 for Style.

Now onto the Cube. Wireless controllers... Same as the other systems. Nothing 2 big. It is VERY comfortable though. I like how you could choose what color of console you want. (mad props). Now, the game selection is.. somewhat childish. Super smash bros. one of my favorite games, of all time. You can spend endless nights just playing that game with your buddies. The majority of the games are for kids. Metroid Prime is a diff story though. If a little kid played THAT game, they would piss their pants. So intense, but a very well constructed game.

2 for console. 4 for Game Selection. 4 for style

My vote goes to PS2 for game selection. XBOX for console. Gamecube for style.

LOL. :D

PS2 is my favorite.  Awesome variety of games.  Oldest of the bunch but still the best buy.

Xbox is 2nd.  No more :ghey: memcards.  And served me well as a DVD player in college.  I love Halo too.  My bro and I played through it twice, and he usually doesn\'t play videogames at all.

GC ties with Xbox.  I like Zelda/F-Zero/and platformers a ton but Nintendo is going at it all wrong.  Their new GC\'s won\'t have the digital A/V out port anymore.  No more component cables for progressive video. :(

Right now I\'m waiting for Res Evil 4, Halo2, and GT4.  That\'s 1 game per system.  Looks like the industry can survive with 3 healthy consoles.

weird thing is,

recently i had been playing back 2-d games from Genesis, would like to playback SNES too but AC adapter died (must be the work of my nephew/nieces).

I still play my ps2, but i find it too much thinking while 2-d are pretty straightforward simple gameplay...

If you lack cash then you should go for PS2 (unless you are mostly interested in modded consoles instead of certain games and you are into buying pirated games then you should go for XBOX) since its got huge support and a ton of exclusive and hugely popular games unmatched by GC or XBOX.Oh and online gaming is free if I am not mistaken (except FF11)
XBOX got the graphics and an exclusive quantity of great games too worth playing a lot.If you are interested in having the better ports of multi platform released titles, and in its exclusive titles then go for XBOX.
And GC has certain exclusives that PS2 and XBOX will never EVER match.Did I mention Resi4?
God I wish I had them all.
