Funny... the mainstream press refers to Kerry\'s flip flopping as well.  The man does not take a solid stand on anything.  On the other hand Bush does take stand\'s on issues and follows through with them.  He doesn\'t try and let other countries dictate our foreign policy, which is exactly what spineless Kerry will do.

I don\'t understand your point in criticizing Hamster\'s post.  He was right.  By my standards, the democratic party is not a "liberal" party.  By someone else\'s standards, the Republican party may not be a "conservative" party.  Those are relative terms.  

Declaring yourself for an ideology is not the same as declaring yourself for a party.  And that is what partisan means.

Wrong Core - Democrats are traditionally a liberal party and the Republicans are conservative.  The "people" you refer to are a very small percentage of the entire population who view both parties as not being either not liberal enough or not conservative enough - those are communist parties and your national socialist parties.

My post is very valid if you look at conservative and liberal politics in the United States.

The number of people who disagree with those simple labels is much greater than you think.  Don\'t you think there are many Republicans who think Schwartzeneggar is "liberal" because of his views on social issues?  The terms are relative, and they change over time.

Where are your facts Core?  The majority of Americans view the Democrats as liberal and the Republicans as conservative.  There is no denying that.  If the numbers were so "great" as you claim, neither party would exist.

Then I guess you can say I\'m liberal because I believe in stem cell research and gay rights. That does not make me liberal, it just makes me more moderate right. I\'m still conservative but I\'m not radical right. I still believe much of what the republican party believes in and like Arnie, believes in a couple policies that don\'t go with the right side of things. A lot of republicans and democrats are like that. It depends on the politician.

Thats one exception to the trend.  I still say that the vast majority of Americans view Republicans as conservatives and view Democrats as liberals.

What I\'m getting at is that it\'s possible to be progressive and not be a supporter of the Democratic party... or any party.  Therefore not partisan.  I know things may be different in your state, but here in California it\'s easy to find people who are extremely progressive (or "liberal" to use your favorite word for it) and hate the Democratic party.

I don\'t know why that\'s hard to accept.

Most of the posts I\'ve seen Titan make have been relatively Conservative, being that, oh, I dunno, he will be going into the Armed Forces, and they generally swing more to the right. Just because he believes that homosexuals have the right to get married (and why the hell not?) doesn\'t make him a liberal.

Dude, you are a moron. First off, because I believe in two liberal policies does not make me liberal. That just makes me more moderate but I have a lot more conservative views. I guess you can say Arnold is liberal (even though he is Republican) because he believes in pro choice and gay rights.

Finally, someone with a brain I want to go into the armed forces but I found I may not be able to because I have a record of asthma after my 13th birthday. It is extremely mild so I\'m gonna go through the tedious process of getting it waived.....a very tedious process. Doesn\'t mean that it will get me in though
