Fable gets....... at gamespot

It\'s just irritating to hear that this "epic" game that took so long to produce ended up being so short. Based on what the company led me to believe, I should be able to roam the countryland doing heroic deeds and decide my destiny. This should include much more freedom of choice then what the reviewers have stated. I shouldn\'t be confined to this linear 10 hour game that you have to milk to get a solid 30 out of. That wasn\'t the game that got me excited YEARS ago. I guess this is what hype will do to you.

You went from a complaint to a reason, I can respect that however I don\'t see how this could actually "irritate" you unless you were sincerely waiting on hands and knees for this game.

The five year development is completely moot.  There wasn\'t an argument there to begin with, it was merely a complaint and a shallow one at that.

I\'m asking HOW are you making it an issue.  The only way I could see anyone being able to bitch about it is if the development time affected the price(if the game was more expensive because).  

That\'s not the case and there isn\'t ANYTHING else that you can come up with.

Ginko, I normally have nothing but respect for your posts but this time I think your arguing with mm has blinded your logic a bit.  I didn\'t have to be waiting hands and knees for Fable to be irritated by it\'s less than everything release.  It promised me one thing, waited 5 years, and gave me something else.  That sucks, and I was a dissapointed/irritated.  Did I get over it soon enough? Well of course.  You don\'t have be waiting  hands and knees for the game to see that the game fell flat on it\'s face and failed to deliver me what it promised.  People waited 5 years for something that won\'t ever exist.  I hardly call that a moot point.

Wait wait, so because you\'re informed about your purchases, you are "hurt" when it comes out less then promised.  Because you read forums, news sites, previews, reviews, and all that other crap, you are dissapointed for not getting something you have never tried.  ...  Boy am I glad Internet people are the minority when it comes to playing and buying games.  There\'s a Joe casual gamer out there who will buy Fable, enjoy the hell out of it, for what it is, and not bitch once about what it was "supposed" to be.  I envy him.  I envy him a lot.

Yeah, it got my hopes up, so what?  God I guess I should keep myself uninformed and just casually pick my purchases based on cover art.  Who said I wouldn\'t try it?  I said I was dissapointed that it didn\'t come totally into fruition.  Not that I was going to be dissapointed in the game I will eventually play, and oh my gosh if you read my earlier posts, I\'ll probably really enjoy!!!!  Don\'t jump on my back because I post something that is less than flowers and butterflies.

Don\'t make yourself out to be some kind of victim here or anything.  The post wasn\'t directed at you, your post just happened to be above mine, but instead at everyone who is complaining that the game is less then what was proposed so long ago.  It just doesn\'t make any sense at all.

A guy goes to Circuit City or Best Buy and buys a computer and it has all these features on paper and then gets home, opens it up, and finds lots of the things written to be included on paper are in fact missing, he has the right to complain.  He paid for this system and he paid for what was written on the page when he bought it.

On the other hand, people on a message forum discussing missing options from a game none of them have played once and on a game that has yet to be released is just really silly.  If you\'re playing the game and as you are playing, you see an acorn drop from the sky and land on the grass and a sign pops up that says "feature to be included in 2006" -- then sure, please, by all means, complain.  Otherwise, I doubt you\'ll miss much.  

How about seeing that computer in the paper at best buy and then when you happen to drive over, you find out that\'s what best buy expected to have.  In reality here\'s half of the system.  You still want to buy it?

Also, just so you know most of all developers have things that they intend to put in games and just don\'t make it.  That\'s why they have sequels;)

Would the system still work really well and do everything that I need to have fun?  Are there other systems I can buy that could be more fun?  Maybe even a better system?  I sure could go for a Burnout 3 system.

well i haven\'t played the game but just by reading some posts i\'m assuming that the game isn\'t as open-ended as it was supposed to be...like getting that porsche that has 250 horsepower when it was really supposed to come with 280..you\'ll be a little dissappointed, but you\'ll still enjoy the porsche nontheless..

i guess some are pissed because that was an option that was hyped up the wassou..and it fell short..what\'s the word i\'m lookin\' for?... too ambitious...

yeah i was kind of thinking what would of been the impact of fable if it was kept a secret till the last minute ?

I still remember when Diddy Kong Racing was revealed a month before release.  The screens were amazing, the thought of having hovercrafts, carts, and planes was awesome.  I had a very positive reaction to the game.  Definitely in my top 3 when it comes to the 64.

I really like how ambitious Peter is but it wouldn\'t hurt if he learned to be more selective about the info he gives when he decides to go public.

omg,  We must play this game before jumping into fault conclusion.  I\'m
going to wait and see the FULL expericene of Fable before I say anything about this game.  

It\'s not peters fault about hyping this game, At the time the developers was adding all these extra features but at the end the developers change it because of the launch date IMO. So is it peters fault? no, The developers said to him at one time they was adding these features.  :eyemouth:
