Nintendo\'s numbers suck.

They have to sell more stuff. It\'s gotten out of hand.

And holy shit EA is sitting on a goldmine.

I\'m suprised with the numbers Xbox managed to get.  It beat out PS2 in hardware sales and it has 4 games in the top 10...including Halo!:stick:

Nintendo\'s numbers are disappointing but hardly unexpected...which I guess is even more disappointing.:(

Before anybody cries about my comment on Xbox beating PS2 in hardware, yes I know that PS2 is selling in a very saturated PS2 base.  Regardless, the Xbox numbers are impressive considering there wasn\'t a big promotion or a huge game released.

ok this has to be national, NFL games getting all the top spots?  Why don\'t people just go out and play football?  Sorta funny when people are sitting on the couch playing sports games.

Fable was released just this past Tuesday and there hasn\'t been a strong push of the game until just recently.  Besides a promotional poster here and there I didn\'t see tv ads until about two weeks ago.

^^^ any effect Fable might have wouldn\'t show up until next month

Believe it or not the PS2 shortage was real, several national retailers have been unable to restock them for the last couple of months. All back orders were supposedly filled Sept. 8th so next month should be a more reliable indicator if anyones looking to see a shift in momentum. Nov-Dec sales are the bottomline anyway (they pretty much dwarf the other months).

I can\'t feel too sorry for Nintendo, they\'ve been making a ton of cash all the while MS has been bleeding the green stuff in order to become \'#2\'.

True.  Speaking of this holiday season, what are the big games coming up for Sony, Nintendo, and MS?

Novemeber:
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Jak III
Halo 2
Baiten Kaitos (not sure when this is due out)
Metroid Prime 2 (I think it\'s due in Nov.)

December:
?

Is Kill Zone or God of War due out this year?

Even if they weren\'t selling tons of games their Gameboy would keep them afloat for a while.

It\'s still concerning that developers are beginning to ignore the cube and it\'s due to sales.

As for MS becoming #2, like they honestly had a shot at becoming #1.  Seriously, there was never a questionable time if Sony would lose this generation and there\'s no way MS or Nintendo could hope to have 60+ million users.  When MS and Nintendo entered this gen it was for the #2 spot.

No, the business model of not taking a severe beating on their hardware and having the child friendly rep (not a bash!) can keep them afloat indefinately.

Ratchet & Clank Up Your Arsenal - 11/02/04
Killzone - 11/02/04
Gran Turismo 4 - 11/14/04
Jak 3 - 11/16/04

Xbox:
Halo 2 -  11/08/04
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic - 12/06/04

What an awful holiday season, there\'s no way I\'ll have time to play all these!  I\'ll be playing catch up for the next year!

If you didn\'t notice, the ESPN games were right behind the Madden games in the charts..

Seems like competition to me. :)
