PS2 Memory Card - Corrupted?
« on: September 18, 2004, 07:13:22 PM »
Here\'s my \'opportunity to excell\' for someone here!  I have a 8mg memory card that when I load it to my PS2 my screen displays a message that it is corrupted!

Now, how do I "clean" it?
Do I simply offer it up to the \'computer Gods\' and go out and buy a new one?
How do I overwrite it/reuse it? Can I?

Thank you in advance for any and all respondents to this opportunity!

Be well and thank you for taking the time to reply!

hopefully you\'re using a SONY ps2 memory card...i never buy any generic cards...if that\'s not the case, i\'d say just take it back and exchange it for a new one...because if it\'s givin you messages like that, there\'s no need to further stress about it..just pick up a new one...

I always keep back-up memory cards just in case. I had the same thing happen with well over a hundred hours and tons of beaten games and unlocked items, and the card displayed messages like this. There were like nothing but those tiny little corrupt boxes. I just used the back-up and refreshed the corrupted card by deleting everything.

Sorry to hear about that. Nothing is ever reliable, I keep back ups of everything (my music CDs, computer, consoles, homework ;))

I don\'t make backups. I probably should buy like a big sized card and just use it as a backup.

Ok, great responses...however, how does one \'delete/clean up\' the card.  I have but only the ps2 machine and the game.  Please don\'t tell me to look it up in the manual, I\'m totally lost with the thing as it is!

Thanks for the responses and the anticipated replies!

How to delete the files on the card? You click on the file and hit delete.

^^^^^^^

Yeah...it\'ll ask you to copy or delete it, and obviously you want to choose delete.

And if you still have no idea. Turn your PS2 on with no game in it, only your memory card, go to the screen where it displays the memory card, click on it, and start deleting sh*t.

If you still don\'t know, divine intervention may be needed...or *gasp*...read the manual.
