This forum is a reflection of the country.  I don\'t see why it shouldn\'t be as we have a divided forum based on ideology.  Should we all think like you?  That is what liberals in this country want you know... as they know what is best for everyone.    I suggest you grow some thicker skin as I have had to do and think about why I am saying what I am saying.  If you said the same about me I would most likely ignore it instead of making veiled threats.  I am not upset or "heated" in the least - I just find your lack of respect in our country\'s current leadership versus your sympathy toward enemies of our country disturbing.  I don\'t see how this is childish in any way.
This dispute has gone beyond arguing the validity of your claim that I hate my country.  That is not open for discussion.  I told you I do not, and that should have satisfied you on that point long ago.   Instead you persisted in insulting me by repeating the statement, even after I politely asked you to stop.  I thought most of the regular posters in this forum respected each other, but especially that you and I respected each other.  You\'ve stated on previous occasions that you considered me a worthy member of these discussions.  Now it appears that you are not interested in granting me even the tiny stipulation that perhaps I do love my country, and just have a different view on how we as a nation should achieve the goals and ideals that I think we all share:  Safety, security, freedom of speech, a robust economy, a fair and reliable system of justice, and many others.
Instead of granting me a respected position in this discussion, you chose  to demonize me and label me as a hater of America, only because I disagreed with the our president\'s decisions over the last four years.  Does that make all the republicans who disagreed with Clinton\'s decisions also america haters?  Of course not.
I did not make any threats, veiled or otherwise.  My reason for asking you to carefully consider your response is because it would - and has - had an effect on my opinion of you.  I previously considered your views seriously and made an honest effort to understand them.  I wanted to hear what you had to say because I wanted to comprehend why half our country seems to share those beliefs.  Even if I did not post in all your threads, I did read them and consider them.
Now I have no further interest in reading your posts or discussing anything with you.  A meaningful discussion requires a certain minimal level of respect on both sides, and you\'re not willing to give it.  Therefore, I\'m not willing to participate in a discussion [with you].  Since you seem to create and reply to most of the threads in this forum, that might mean that I won\'t be posting here much anymore.  If my participation drops sufficiently, I\'ll ask to have myself removed as a moderator.  That remains to be seen, and I will take the appropriate action when necessary.
This is not an attempt to penalize you.  As of now I could not care less how you feel about it.  This is a decision I\'ve made for myself alone.  With any luck you will be able to insult and stifle the remaining liberal proponents in this forum, and then you can enjoy a howling echo chamber of agreement with the remaining conservatives.  Have fun with that.  BTW, don\'t bother to PM me any more.  I don\'t want to hear about it.
