The Incredibles [Spoilers abound]
« on: November 05, 2004, 11:19:40 PM »
What an awesome friggin movie.  I\'m not going to really say anything about the plot or what was so great, but I\'m just posting this thread as it seems at least one other person on this board has seen it.  Brad Bird is an excellent director.  The film is very imaginative and if anyone has read comics as a kid, a lot of the things mentioned will truly ring home.  Did anyone else see it?

Best Pixar movie to date. I went in expecting it to be really good and left surprised at how good it actually was(if that makes any sense).

Pixar is batting 1.000 right now.

Disney is really f*cking gay for disbanding from Pixar...what were they thinking? And I agree that this is their best film to date.

Well, Pixar doesn\'t want to leave Disney as they like them a lot, but their early contract really screwed Pixar out of millions and their final film on their current contract is Cars.  Don\'t be surprised if Pixar hammers out a new contract with Disney in the near future for a new picture set deal.  It just makes the most sense for both companies.

Going to see it tonight.  The guys over at cgtalk, the lucky ones who were invited to early screens, have been raving about it for weeks.

Pixar is so coo:cool:

It looks like Disney is going to try and make it on their own anyway with Toy Story 3, Toy Story 4, and the upcoming Chicken Little.

Pixar already has one film outside the Disney contract, Ratatouille is due out in 2006.

Toy Story without Pixar...Disney is doomed. Did anyone see Dreamworks\' Shark Tale? That was the worst movie ever. And I guess it was supposed to be a FInding Nemo killer or something...only Shark Tale sucked major ass and Finding Nemo\'s animation rivaled Dreamworks\' sh*tty movie in comparison. They said the budget was like 300 million, but that was probably just paying all of the actors 30 million a piece or something.

But now that I\'ve seen The Incredibles, the animation in that just makes all other movies like it look like explosive diarrhea *like Kenny*...

I liked Shark Tale and I really don\'t see how one could compare it to Finding Nemo.  The only thing they had in common was the setting of the ocean, everything else was quite different.  Oh, and I thought the animation in Shark Tale was a cut above Finding Nemo\'s...the facial expressions are great.

The facial expressions in Finding Nemo are better. There were some scenes in Shark Tale where the voices clearly didn\'t go with their mouth movements, like a poorly dubbed Japanese flick...especially in the scene where Robert de Niro\'s character is talking with his 2 sons at the table.

And Will Smith\'s character acted way too "gangsta" then he actually is...and just ruined the whole thing for me. And the dancing/singing scenes were enough to make me puke. I mean Jesus...I knew I was in for a sh*tty movie when they played a music video for the Land Before Time series with little 4 yr olds acting like idiots, and there were nothing but toddlers in the theater.

I don\'t know what movie you were watching, but there were rarely moments where Shark Tale\'s animation was pleasing to the eye. Everything else was pretty much bland. Like basically ALL of the indoor scenes...sh*tty stuff. I\'ll never watch that movie again.

If you liked it, then I\'m happy for you, but I don\'t see how anyone could. I almost walked out 3 times, but the chic I was with kept giving me the "puppy dog eyes" face...that b*tch!! Her hotness made up for it though, I guess...

I didn\'t notice the lip-sync problem but I do agree that Will Smith gave a poor voice over.

Naw they don\'t get 30million a film for voice acting. I know the shrek2 cast got 10million each and that film is huge.

I don\'t think shark tale sucked it just wasn\'t all that. And I agree disney without pixar is doomend. Looks like Toy story 3 is going to suck.

Disney is really tanking with the exception of Pixar. It\'s a damned shame.

I saw The Incredibles and liked it a lot. Some of it got a little bland at the end, but in general it was great. I love the transition into the credits.
