Promotions.. Have you ever had one?

I just found out lastnight that I am getting a promotion come next week. Just curious if anyone else has got one where they worked and if so, how did it go? Do you prefer your new job as opposed to the previious position you held>?

I went through 3 promotions before I hit teh glass ceiling. I liked my first level better but that was too unstable since anyone could do it (build and repair PCs). Now I\'m Tier 3 Help Desk. More like a systems admin. This job is super boring but pays a LOT. But my life outside of work got a whole lot better with the extra loot. So it balances things out.

When I was younger (way younger), and this will sound lame, I had 3 promotions at Subway...which was more than anyone ever got, probably. I went from like...sandwhich artist to basically assistant manager. It was like 4 dollars more an hour than when I started. I only worked there for six months.

I worked at a casino and was a supervisor there after working for 3 weeks, but the job Suxored and I quit in a big fit of rage.  They had me on a pager and I got to work 60-80 hours a week, sunsabitches
