CD_RW\'s generally work in the same way floppys do obviously so is there a program that just lets u drag a document into the CD drive icon, or right click on the document and then "Send to: CD"?

Also u should b able to edit documents directly on the CD just like with floppys

I mean doing all this without having to go into NERO or whatever - just basically using a CD-RW as a floppy - anyone know of any such program?

You drag \'em to the CDRW drive, then goto File and click Write these files to cd.

Nero is indeed more reliable though and I doubt you can remove the files from the CD again once written.

And no, you can\'t manually remove and add things to the CD-RW in real-time like a floppy. The only similarity to a floppy disk is that it\'s re-writable. But you have to completely erase everything on the disk before you can burn "new" stuff onto it again. And then if you want to add things, you have to completely erase everything on the disk again. And repeat.

I use them a lot to transfer stuff from computer to computer...and if I get tired of the crap on there, then I just erase everything. They are very convenient.

Also, don\'t use CD-RW\'s for making an audio CD. It will greatly disappoint you.

As stated above WinXP has CD-R/W burning built in, it\'s a breeze.

^ agreed, standard cdr just doesn\'t cut it anymore. When Blank DVDs are around the same price (here anyway) as normal CDR theres just no reason to bother with them anymore.  Although i still use my CDR for burning cdrs over my dvdr.
