Ok, now that PS2, XBOX, PC, and GCN all have their flagship holiday titles out, which one lived up to the hype the most?  If you had to buy only one, which would it be...

PS2 - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
XBOX - Halo 2
PC - Half-Life 2
GCN - Metroid Prime 2: Echos

I know that Metroid Prime got lost in the mix, but let me assure you, it is one helluva game.

It\'s personally a touch decision for me.  But I\'ll take freedom of doing whatever you want over a FPS anyday.

That\'s just me though, I\'m not big on FPS.  Although I do love HL2.

None of those.

Splinter Cell 3 is THE reason why I upgraded my PC with a Geforce 6800GT plus an extra 1 Gb of DDR500 ram.

You\'ll have to give me some time to answer that. Just got Halo 2; played about 90 minutes. (60 online, 30 offline)

Half-Life 2, about 20 minutes. Metroid Prime 2 hasn\'t come yet, and I don\'t own a PS2.

Never been a PC gamer, but this year the PC has dominated.

City of Heroes
World of Warcraft
Everquest 2
Doom 3
Half Life 2
Far Cry
Metal of Honor: Allied Forces

List goes on and on. Not sure the  last console game I even bought, tho I know I will buy Knights of the Old Republic 2 on release day.

Metal Gear Solid 3 for me.

8.7 from Kasavin, not too shabby. Considering his biggest complaint is that it plays like MGS2, and doesn\'t keep up with contemporary games (ala Splinter Cell).

A complaint I can live with. :)

If it was halo 1, I would have voted for it, but as far as Ive seen from halo 1 and 2, they are both the SAME EXACT GAME!

Is it me? Or does PSone own all the other systems?

No.

This still baffles me, by the way.

It was overhyped but atleast it was something new.

Well, maybe I just havent been far enough into the game but from what I\'ve seen there has not been anything new really, one level when ur an alien, the sword but thats it. And they even put a lot of the same aliens in it. Oh and their is the dual weilding, but all that stuff is minor additions. It\'s basically the same game with the same gameplay and the same game, but hey, maybe I just havent played enough.

There was NOTHING new about Halo, really. I can\'t think of anything that wasn\'t done in another game and usually done better. I like to think of Halo as the game that took all the hype for a launch title, much like the original PS had \'Battle Arena Toshiden\', a game that at the time received a lot of critical praise, but as time passed, people realized just how bad the game was.

I didn\'t buy into the hype of any of these games and can honestly say that the only thing I expect from them is that they are as good as their predecessors.  I\'ve already finished Halo 2 and I plan on buying Metroid Prime 2 at a later date, hopefully before the end of the year.

Halo 2 improved upon everything from the original game.  Polished, slick, and lots of fun.  Nothing ground breaking but the first game didn\'t do anything groundbreaking either, it just did what it did very well.

Metroid Prime is really great, and from what I hear the sequel is every bit as good.  I also read that MP2 is very much similar to the original and seeing as how I enjoyed the first quite a bit I\'m sure it\'ll be a great game to add to my collection.

I have no plans to upgrade my computer so I\'m stuck waiting for the Xbox version of HL2.  I don\'t like the GTA games.

Have to say that HL2 is one of the few games I have actually enjoyed as of late. Everything about it screams POLISHED. I actually feel like I am Gordon Freeman and when I kill someone with a headcrab, I actually feel bad for them. They constantly moan and cry.
