Positioning of 5.1 speakers?

Ave Caesar.

I’m a little unsure of how I should position my 5.1 speakers, these are my first set so that explains my newbie-ness, and therefore I ask you, superior beings for your superior advice.

I have made a blueprint of the room using my level 12 MS Paint & Photoshop skills.

My question is, can I have the speakers by the red dots marked on the pictures? Or do they have to be in the height of my head (blue dot)? The speakers will be of the Logitech Z680 model.

What no Ikea furniture?

That should work fine. Idealy you want them head level but that\'ll work.

yeah, I prefer my speakers head level.  As long as they are pointed at your head it shouldn\'t matter too much

It would be quite tricky placing them at head level, so until I move the computer I\'ll have to have them by the cealing, also a good way to cover up the ugly cords.

I have all my speakers at shoulder level, but they all point upwards, my center on top of my monitor points downwards and my sub is on the floor.
