Thank you... more or less.

Anyone else already reserved theirs? I have. I was going to wait to see if any tech issues arise, but I have no will power. :(

Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

Just so you know, these reports of low battery life are using it straight out of the box. While the battery is not fully charged. Expect about 5 hours with volume and brightness up full.

And that\'s on launch games that would clearly not be optimized to the systems full potential..

Hope you can speak German as they are the ones who cracked it but you need to download the DarkMorpheus69 firmware hack here and follow the instructions here.  From there you have to connect the ipod to the adapter that can be bought here but you only need to do it once.  After your ipod sees the new firmware it will try to tell Apple something is different when you connect to iTunes.  So just make sure you installed the iPodPHREAK mod into the Windows shell.  Unfortunately you have to boot into DOS mode but that can be achieved easily with a dual-booting partition.

When all\'s said and done you can\'t store music on it anymore but Tetris is damn cool!

from GA and Tokyopia:

Quote
The Setup:

The PSP reports 51% battery charge out of the box. The unit is used
(to play assorted games and videos) until it shuts down due to low
battery. It is then recharged to 100%.

Ridge Racers is inserted, and the AC Adaptor is unplugged. The PSP is
powered on and as the Ridge Racers logo appears, the clock is
started. The game is played continuously, with minimal time spent in
any menus and absolutely no replays watched.

The PSP is set to 75% max volume and brightness 3 (the highest
possible when using the battery).

Results:

At 3:45 - 3:48 (that\'s three hours and forty-five minutes) the POWER
light begins flashing slowly
. Note that the light stays green, it
doesn\'t change color a la Nintendo\'s handhelds when the battery is
low--it flashes instead.

At 4:03:30, just over four hours, the game is interrupted by a
flashing low battery indicator, and the unit powers down.

Those reports on 2 hours is probably using the PSP out of the box without recharging (apparently, as quoted above), out of the box, the battery is recharged to 51%. There are more reports that confirm this numbers.

Hope that settles the "battery life" issues. Thanks to Marconelly! for posting the info at b3d.
