Stay with WoW. The feelings you have now is because of the zone. It is walk 5 miles to get a quest then repeat. This stays moderatly true throughout the game. Yet later on it tends to be more go through dangerous turf to new town. Then the missions seem to go from the nearest part of the town to begin with further out. It lets you get familiar with the place much quicker and easier.
Please bear in mind that quite a few undead cant stand the newbie area. I would imagine just because of what you are feeling. I played as a tauren and it felt much more streamlined. Same with orcs and trolls. No clue on the alliance side. Never rolled human trash before.
You can very easily moves to crossroads at what 12???? I think that is about right, but I avoid crossroads as much as possible. So stick with it until you can move out of the newb zones. It is torture that have done numerous times.
So far as Coh goes. Have one toon 50 and another 44 or 45. I wish had stopped with one fifty toon and moved on. Possibly even before one toon got to 50. It is an ok game, and the costumes are great, but if you look at the forums it seems to be going downhill. Maybe all of this will change when COV comes out.

Have to say, at lvl 12 I am already losing interest in the game. It seems to spread out and sometimes simply too disconnected. I will stick with it for a few more levels, but if it does not improve, I will cancel my account and go back to CoH which at least had the superhero angle, even if the community did suck.
