yep. I got me an ibook G4 today. I also got a free Epson CX4600 (the all in ones). It was one of those thanksgiving deals. Ive been waiting to get a laptop for awhile now. Just had to share with someone.

I was looking at the powerbook, but it was more that my budget, and honestly more than I really need in a laptop. Not that more power in a machine is ever a bad thing. im still jealous of Juslights 20 inch Imac

I just might get an iBook. I only need it for simple video editing, music ripping/composing, and whatnot...and obviously for my college work. Of course...I\'ll get a boatload of RAM with it

Plus you get a discount if you\'re a student, so it\'s like $799, which is hundreds less than the Powerbook.

Ehm... congratulations to you ! eh or sumthin\'....

I dunno, my expierence with G4 ibook isn\'t that great.
I tried some very basic 3D modeling on such a Mac ; it\'s viewport performance was crawling. My PIII 667mhz (256mb ram plus a Geforce 2 GTS) does the same task with ease. I wasn\'t impressed with the G4 ibook at all.....

At the office my boss has both a Powerbook G5 which is indeed impressive, but he also has a G4 Cube. Once again, my old PIII beats that G4 Cube at such a thing as Photoshop....

But, yes... the Macs do look more pretty than my PIII

ill be doing web design for the most part, so even photshop work will be with small files. Like I said before. The ibook with everything I need for the pricerange.

wow, then your boss must have gotten his powerbook from the future because normal powerbooks sport g4\'s just like the iBooks.

I was gonna say something, but im too lazy this morning to do so. actually, I dont claim to be a mac expert, so I wasnt 100% on the fact that a G5 power book existed or not. didnt feel like looking. thanks for picking up my light work no one
