trying to fix a computer
« on: December 04, 2004, 08:00:53 AM »
This is driving me crazy.  A friend needed his computer fixed because it was bogged down big time.  Tons and tons of crap from having Kazaa on the computer.

He didn\'t have much so I just reformatted and reinstalled XP.

But for some reason the ethernet card isn\'t working.

It wasn\'t working when I first got it, but I went into control panel and reinstalled the drivers and it fixed it.

But now with the new OS on here for some reason it\'s not reading what kind of card is in the unit.

I now know I am not buying a Dell.

It goes a long way knowing your components.

Anyway, can someone help me find the driver I need?

I downloaded every dirver I could find because you can\'t just tell Dell what type of computer you have and instantly have a list of drivers.  It freaking sucks.

The Service Tag on it is FV5RB51

I think it is a Dimension 2400

I went here, but I think I\'ve downloaded everything and nothing works.

This POS has no open slots to even install a new network card.
I wear a necklace now because I like to know when I\'m upside down.
