powering Playstation 2 in car?
« on: December 05, 2004, 12:56:48 PM »
I am currently installing a complete carputer system in my Vehicross and plan to gut and permanently install a playstation2 as well.  The problem is that I have no interest in running a power inverter and so I need some information on the power supply of the PS2.  First off, does anyone have an alternative for mobile use for PS2?  If not, can someone point me in the directoin of specs that tell what the output side of the PS2 power supply has?  I\'m assuming its going to be DC but at what voltage or current?  I will be running an Opus Solutions DC-DC power supply that has a decent amount of +5V and -5V as well as a regulated +12V output.  If the output is something else, I am not against buying or building my own PS but I really want to stay away from an inverter like I mentioned before... any ideas?  Thanks in advance.
