I can play ps2 games that come on a silver disc, but some ps2 games come on a blue disc. 9 out of 10 times I can\'t get my ps2 to read this color disc.

has anyone else ever experienced this problem? if so, is there a fix?

Check the sticky in the main forum. I just opened it up and cleaned the lens with a Q-Tip dipped in warm water. Fixed my disc read problems.

Yes, the Q-Tip is one of the best methods. Warm water should be fine. DON\'T use chemical substances of any kind. For example...Windex would DESTROY the lens. Stick with H2O

its called the gain and bias... yes ps2 also have them.. and no don\'t touch them unless u have a idea on wtf you\'re doing.

A friend and I are trying the q tip method and when we put the cd casing back together the power/stand by light doesnt light up and the ps2 doesnt turn on.

Its a second gen ps2 so theres a little silver cable that runs from inside of the ps2 (looks like the cd) to the face buttons. It was stuck on with a little sticker and the sticker came up a bit but other than that nothing else was done.

Any suggestions???

Damn you Evi - Ive done this with my ps2 and the power has never gone out because i took the lid off - It just doesnt make sense.
