Xbox and Halo 2 owned November, however it was expected.  I didn\'t expect that GBA sales would be so strong though with a new version coming out the same month.  

I\'m surprised at the small number for Metroid Prime 2 considering that the original managed over one million.  I haven\'t picked it up myself, I might wait for it to go player\'s choice before I do or borrow it from a friend.

That\'s an insane amount of GBA\'s sold, and I\'m surprised as well with the DS just being released.

Anyway...

Sometimes these consumers really confuse me. I guess i just dont like certain games.

Halo 2, GTA, then a huge drop-off. Makes sense.

Where\'s the beef  errr  PC games

anyway.. who needs to buy a PS2 anymore ? about everyone\'s as one. not surprising to see sales slowing down.

Like MM said 13/20 are PS2 games, 4 are xbox. (*although the total sold games are alomst equal..)

Not everyone has one.  The original PS managed to sell over 100 million in its\' lifetime and Sony expects that PS2 will do better than that.  There is still alot of room to grow.

Notice the only Cube games to crack the top 20 are all by Nintendo.  That\'s why third parties would tend to shy away from the system.

I love how the climate has changed here.  How many months this year has xbox outsold ps2?  All is well indeed.  Sony is losing mindshare, marketshare and dominance, something few here ever thought possible.  Next gen is going to be interesting and it\'s not completely out of the question to see the east/west - ps3/xenon split.  The rest of the world would also be up for grabs.

mm, I could dig up a quote from a couple weeks ago:  I said something like, I wonder what will happen once H2 ships (implying that xbox could win xmas).  You replied, in your dismissive, smart-ass manner, I wonder what will happen once GTASA ships.

Now we know.  

And this is damage control: everyone has a PS2 already.  BS.  People are coming of age every day and buying a first console.  Last I checked, population rises, it doesn\'t flatline.  Fact is, just as many gamers are choosing xbox.

Xbox sales are up for one reason: Halo2.

Idiots everywhere will still prefer PS2 after the Halo2 craze dies down and it\'ll be back to normal.

Also sad PS2 fans find comfort in "having" the best selling system and games.

I wouldn\'t bet on it, Q1 2005 will have Oddworld Stranger, Forza Motorsport, Conker Live and Reloaded, Unreal Championship 2, and Jade Empire.  (Doom 3, Far Cry Instincts, and Pariah are due out as well, they are PC ports. Pariah is from the makers of Unreal.)

All of the above have very positive gameplay impressions thus far.  MS commented that they will be pushing Jade Empire seeing as how effective the marketing campaign was for Halo 2.

I can easily say that Pariah, Conker Live, and Jade Empire look pretty damn good so far. Games like the new Oddworld arent really getting my attention anymore - the last game seemed ok but when i played it, it wasnt what i expected.

I read an interview with Oddworld Inhabitants and they said they arent rushing this one like the last game and how things are getting refined but from the looks of things it isnt quite there yet visually and gameplay wise i havent heard anything too interesting.

As for Forza - god i hated that game. I played it a week or so ago and the control was pretty shitty on both controllers that they had (both were in good condition) and it just wasnt all that exciting. Rallisport Challenge 1/2 was great - Project Gotham 2 was alright but this blew it hard.

People have different opinions but only a few games (at least that you mentioned) have seemed promising.

so did halo 2 sell more than GTA:SA?
