We have a ps2 and we just bought a ps2 game "Top Gun".

We can not play it. It comes up on the screen as "Disk Read Error"

What could the problem be?

We have cleaned the disk thinking that may be the problem. But it is still giving us the wrong error.

1. Is it a blue colored disk?

2. How old is your PS2?

Hi Laura we\'re gonna be nice to you since you\'re a girl and I\'ve only seen about a dozen or so of those in real life.

When I had the disc read error on a new, clean disc I had to open the PS2 and clean the lens with a Q-Tip. Read the guide herehere to see how to open it up. I didn\'t need to adjust the laser or anything so maybe just a simple lens cleaning is what you need as well.

well you laugh, but putting the discs in the freezer works well. It tightens up the grooves in the disc. I\'ve had one disc I had to do it to.

yep, it also works for blank dvds.. gives you far more storage space.

DUde, you freaking rock. I tried it and I got 50 extra meg on the disc. I wonder how long it takes to cool down and you lose what you\'ve gained.

50 meg?? dood you didn\'t put it in long enough, it gave me atleast 1 gig.

Well, I did a little research on the site after I posted. I should have did the research before. I ended up taking the ps2 apart and cleaning it. That did the job. Thanks for being nice.

That\'s nothing, I put one in, it came out as a remote control.
