Anyone A+ certified?

I\'ll be taking the test for the hardware in about a month and a half and then the OS part in the summer, and was wondering how nasty it is.

My friend is doing all those tests, now he\'s on his 3rd MCSE test for networking or whatever.  All I know is it\'s a ton of reading and if you fail you really pay for it. :\\

If you have a good head on your shoulders though you should do well, like my friend.

it\'s a joke

i hope you didnt pay for classes to study for it.

they (a+ and n+) are kinda dated anyways, no real point in having them.  i dont even put them on my resume.

skip them, and go MSCE and CCNA unless you wanna work the helpdesk

A+ isn\'t dated mm, they\'ve changed it to the cover the newer technologies.  I\'m just doin the A+ Cert outta boredom really, EP are paying for it, its not a course, just the tests. But it also helps somewhat get a techy job.  If i\'m not working by june i\'ll be applying to do the electronics diploma anyway. I want to wait till i\'m 25, but if i\'m not working it\'ll be pushed forward.

Only type of work i\'m after is techy or something in electronics engineering.

Theres a sybex Test engine u can use to get examples of the questions.

mm, A+ isn\'t dated like souly said, but you do have to cover stuff that isn\'t bleeding edge tech because not everyone (companies included) out there has brand new pc\'s.  None the less, I\'m still going the CCNA route next semester.

Wow, I wish I was as cool as you mm.  Maybe someday I\'ll be enough of a bipolar social outcast where I will spend my waking hours trying to annoy and insult strangers on an internet message board.  All the time while proving that I\'m a unknowledgable, self loathing individual who will eventually make the news after shacking up with a hard trick named Jim and dying from a masive overdose of vitamin J.

BTW mm, I said I will be getting my ccna and mcse over the next year and a half, but if trying to insult other people so that your own inadequancies aren\'t quite so obvious, is your thing than by all means continue.  I mean after all, you got that going for you.

soully, you live in the asscrack  of the world.  they pay you blokes in wood chips.
please stfu, thanks
if i cared to spend 5 seconds to satisfy your pathetic insult, i would  post my resume.

theomen,  i\'m trying to help you out and avoid the pitfalls i almost fell into entering the computer field years ago.  don\'t want my advice?  i care very little, you\'ll just have to find out the hard way.

when you pay all the money to take the a+ test, i want to you think of me and ask yourself, "wtf am i taking this for?"

here\'s a few A+ sample questions:

Which of the following is port address for serial port COM1?

A.    3F0-3F7
B.    2F8-2FF
C.    320-32F
D.    3F8-3FF

Which processor has first combined the L2 system cache inside the processor CPU package?

A.    80486
B.    Pentium
C.    Pentium Pro
D.    Pentium III

i bet bill gates doesn\'t even know this high tech stuff

mm, if you\'re truly trying to help then I\'ll accept it at that, but what I\'m saying is that I\'m not focusing soully on the A+.  It will only be a part of my certs along with the CCNA and MCSE
