This is walking across a road not at a crossing yeh?

Just interested if anyone actually follows this law and if the police actually give u a fine or something for doing it?

Just depends if you\'re in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I\'ve seen it done in many big cities.  If the roads are CLEAR then it\'s generally accepted.  With 8M people in NYC not everyone can take and wait for the cross-walk.

I always wonder what\'s the worst the pigs can do to you if they catch you jaywalking?  You can just say you don\'t have any ID on you, and then give them a fake name and address.  Take the ticket, then go around the corner and tear it up.  Of course the problem for me is that I always walk around with a keycard on my belt that has my name and picture on it.  :(

This isn\'t Germany, where it\'s against the law to not carry ID.  "A good german must always be able to identify himself."  I heard that phrase auf Deutsch once, but I can\'t be bothered to figure out the exact grammatically correct way of wording it.

I jaywalk in my town (not going in the crosswalk) but then again, I hardly am a pedestrian. That and there aren\'t many crosswalks.

Too bad they\'re making a law now where you have to give the police your correct name and what not or you can get arrested and given time in jail.  I just saw this on the news recently.

Are you insinuating that the segment is presented as anything but staged?
