New Albums.
« on: March 28, 2005, 03:33:48 AM »
Name the new albums that are out lately and your opinion.

I\'ll keep this short:

Beck -  Guero

I like it.It reminds me of his Odelay period with a lot of different styles. For a scorny white boy he makes some damn sexy music   :fro:

Queens of the stone age - Lullabies to paralyze.

Haven\'t listened to it that much but it\'s pretty much more of the same.I like there previous album(Songs for the deaf) and this continues in that line.

Your turn.
I\'m like King Midas in reverse.Everything I touch turns to shit.  -Tony Soprano-
Homer: Marge you gotta help me. I have to do one good deed in the next 24 hours to get to heaven.
Marge: Well, you could clean the garage, mow the lawn, paint the house...
Homer: Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. I\'m just trying to get in, not run for Jesus.

Beck got a good Guero review at Rollingstone.com.....

Yeah, I would like to hear it !

Also, I just ordered Amon Tobin\'s \'Chaos Theory\', which is basically the soundtrack to Splinter Cell : Chaos Theory.

Standout track imho is Kokubo Shosho Battle. Very cool industrial sounds with a bridge at 3/4 which gives me goosebumps :D

Of course, all SC fans already know the tracks ; The Lighthouse, El Cargo and The Battery.
\"Enemy show me what you wanna be, I can handle anything even if I can\'t handle you !\"

yeah I\'ve been liking the new Qotsa quite a lot, still miss Rex Everything though. Love the opening with Mark Lanegan. The thing that annoys me though is that he uses some radio like effect on his voice quite alot.

I can\'t even front. When I copped this album I did it as a joke but I am definately feeling it. It seems like a lot of older hip hop fans are digging this album.

FIIIIIYAH...woo woo woo aawoo-ooo

coming relatively soon:
April 12- Mudvayne
May 17- System of a Down

on topic, i heard the new judas priest cd was really good, but i never really got into him. no pun intended.

The Haunted- Revolver: Guitars and drums are awesome but the vocals are weak. You get used to them if you like metal.

not many new things out i can think of.

Speaking of QOTSA,Mark Lanegan\'s album absolutely ROCKS!

Mark Lanegan - Bubblegum

It features guest vocals from PJ Harvey and Mark\'s wife. The album is a nice mix of mellow and harder tracks.

Check out metacritic.com for the reviews.

*Edit:The new Nine Inch Nails is also almost upon us.It\'s called:With Teeth.

"Some Cities" by the Doves. Very cool, sorta lo-fi, good songwriting.

"the Cosmic Game" by Theivery Corporation.

Beck\'s new stuff is very good. He\'s always been reliable since Loser.
Who is this anamoly we call Jumpman? How is he able to do what he does and still survive after years of torment? It seems he feeds on the hate, growing with an intense passion to put unassuming members in their place.

If Guero is as good as Odelay then ill definately have to check it out. I heard one song that i didnt like much on the radio but perhaps the rest is better. I have my odelay cd somewhere but i can never seem to keep it in my hands for more than a couple of weeks at a time.

BS: Are you serious about that new Will Smith cd? I had big willy style. I wont even lie. It wasnt the worst cd in the world when i bought it but its been tossed for a long while. When i heard he was coming out with some new shit I really wanted to see what he was doin. Maybe ill have to check it out.
