  why split the handheld userbase to DS users and to "next gameboy" users?

I dont think Nintendo will find it necessary since the DS is doing well adn already shows nice graphics

Well, the next Gameboy iteration IS already being worked on.

But it sounds like with all the wifi talk, DS might be designed to link to Revolution.  Maybe.

I\'d say it also depends greatly on the success of the PSP, which although it isn\'t competition....

Oh, and although I couldn\'t be any less interested in Nintendogs, Famitsu\'s four reviewers each gave it a perfect score... Huh.

Why should someone who has already paid 150 for DS want to pay 150 for the next gameboy? How much "better" or different can it be/Nintendo present it so that the consumer will want to buy one

I\'m just talking about the confusing handheld releases. They can\'t force me to do sh^t. The only thing this is making me do is not buy their products.

You people obviously haven\'t played the DS, it is a different product than the Gameboy.

With the DS you should expect more games like Kirby: Cursed Canvas, Yoshi\'s Touch \'n Go, Warioware, etc.

With the new gameboy you\'ll see games like what the Gamecube is offering, both in gameplay and graphics.  At least that\'s the rumor.  As Eik said, it\'s supposed to complement the Revolution in some way and I\'ve read it will extend the life of the GC as well...we\'ll see.

if that\'s the case that\'s retarded..what one system\'s for kids and the other\'s for adults?...two handhelds? i don\'t buy handhelds, but this reasoning doesn\'t make sense to me...

Do you know anything about the DS?  Dual screen/touch screen ring any bells?

Now compare that to the Gameboy Advanced.

Two different type of handhelds for two different audiences, adult or kids.  The DS will appeal to those who like the touch screen aspect, and the new Gameboy will appeal to those who want more traditional games on the go.  There\'s obviously a market for the type of games the DS offers since the touch games are doing so well.

Why is this so difficult?

Really?  I thought it was a bit too bulky.  I look forward to when they redesign it sometime, and hopefully make it thinner.
