Adobe to Acquire Macromedia

this kind of scares me... If they replace Dreamweaver with golive, im not going to be a happy camper.

Well I was shocked aswell but I seriously doubt they\'ll go with GoLive instead of Dreamweaver.

But there are good things in this, more intigration between Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash for instance.

I was just talking to my buddy about that.. It would be kinda cool if dreamweaver and flash became part of the CS suite. That is, as long as they dont change anything.

THere\'s been a bunch of rumors on what\'s going to happen, so think that Adobe will scrap all of Macromedia\'s offerings and this was only done as a way to squash their competition.

But what I always thought was the most belivable was that Flash and Dreamweaver would be integrated into the CS suite and programs such as Fireworks and Freehand would be a smaller app in a cheap\'o suite of sorts.

Adobe\'s too smart just to throw away mature programs like Fireworks, Freehand and such. Hell they might throw in some of their own, InMotion doesn\'t hold a candle to Flash for instance and GoLive while a good program doesn\'t have the userbase of Dreamweaver.

As long as I have Flash I\'ll be fine. Don\'t use Dreamweaver anymore.

As long as they don\'t scrap all of Macromedia, this merger will be a pretty positive thing in the eyes of the consumer. A lot more compatability and integration between all the programs would be pretty cool.

Maybe they\'ll just call it Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash and whatnot...only they\'ll make the programs kick more ass.

I\'m a frequent Dreamweaver user, so I hope they don\'t f*ck everything up. I saw this news a while ago and just thought...WTF?

they might still keep the same staff on at macromedia and just have the rights to the software.. I went to macromedia.com and there doesn\'t seem to be any change in "schedule".

Yeah, I haven\'t noticed anything drastic over there either...which, for now, is a good thing.
