Forum redesign

Well it\'s been a long time since we\'ve had any change around here. And now that the PS3 is around the corner I thought it might be a good idea if we\'d try to freshen this place a bit.

We\'ve got a bunch of talented designers here, both in the web and 3d arena, and I bet that a whole lot of us could brighten this place up a bit.

I was bored and took the liberty of coming of with a design, just as an idea. Same basic layout but more of a PS3\'ish look, it would seem that grey is going  to be big this time around, I\'m going to make some designs for new icons aswell instead of the tired old vBulletin ones.

so here it is.


Keep in mind that this is just an idea.

I know the vBulletin system suppoers theme templates.

Studies show that lighter colored web pages are preferred to darker versions of the same site.  Wouuld maybe draw more visitors.  I like it too!

When you design the icons see if you can make different ones that look different to the threads you replied to.  That always comes in handy on other forums.

I like the traffic flow now. There are not an insane amount of members but not too few where it is completely dead. We have some dedicated members with somewhat of worthwhile posts. Maybe a bit more traffic would be nice but too much traffic would be bad. I hardly have time to deal with all the threads now and with double the people, I would never be able to keep up.

I\'d prefer it if you\'d cut it up to 5000 instead.

Here\'s a version with the current forum colors, and a new shade of blue, kinda glowing black look.



I\'m not sure if the top navbar is possible though, I moved the buttons much lower than they are right now.

If the forum suppprts styles we could do a dark, medium and light look. Also if some other have ideas to that would be great.

I am more than fine with our current layout and color scheme but a slight graphic upgrade would be interesting. Its too bad you cant have a customizable template (ie, picking colors for each aspect of the site to your liking). That would be neat. That and maybe a few transparencies (without getting carried away that is).

The second one is pretty cool. I say lets give it a try and if 30 days we aren\'t completely satisfied, we will return it.
