After many problems with the old big PS2 model, my bro bought the new slim PS2. A week ago or so I tried to play a DVD movie but I found a problem that never appeared in the old model.
The aspect ratio of the image appears distorted, I mean, not real 16:9. Let\'s see an example.
This is a normal 16:9 DVD image
And this is how the PS2 plays the movies:
As you can see there is a clear distortion in the heigth that I can\'t fix. I\'ve been \'playing\' with the options of the system, changing outputs, etc. Something that I noticed is that it doesnt allow me to change the aspect ratio of the movie whilst it is playing.
I\'ve changed several times the general ratio visualization in the system menu of the console (root) and nothing changes. The distorted image appears again and again and it seems impossible to fix.
This happens in the original DVDs as well as in security copies. Do you have any idea? This never happened in the old model.
Any help / advice is welcomed.
