Plasma TV/Oh Yeah!!!
« on: September 12, 2005, 08:32:49 AM »
After much research I settled on this baby for my new TV. It\'s 42" Panasonic Plasma TV. Watched my first movie on it last night and it was amazing. Direct-TV comes on Wed to hook up an HD dish for me.

Anybody miss me? I\'ve been busy with real life unlike you little punks who\'s only worry is what lunch box ya need for school. :p

Hey Giga, things are going well. It\'s been a nightmare getting the second floor aptartment ready for renting. The last tenants were slobs . . . and it was my sister. Plus I still have my apartment that is being worked on.

How\'s it going?

Hey, I know you\'re not in the Ford family right now but I saw a Ford GT 40 in Boston the other day. Man, that\'s a nice car. They have one at my local Ford dealer. Wish I was rich.

Heh I am still in the Ford family - my wife has an Expedition.

Not too bad here - last two weeks have been hectic due to the hurricane and being a government employee they have us doing stuff we normally wouldn\'t do.

That Ford GT is nice - I think every Ford dealer (not dealership) got one.  At least that is what my brother in law told me and he works for Ford.

Oooh, Expedition. Gas prices must make you cry. I know they do now for me with all the gas guzzling mods I\'ve done to my car. :)

Enjoy 4x3 material in all it\'s stretched out glory...

Nice set, but I just wouldn\'t buy a Plasma till 90% of material is widescreen.  Stretched looks like a poopy.

But the chicks dig it, so you have that going for you.  Which is nice.

Vid- how wude!  He said he\'s getting DirecTV and I\'m sure watching the news stretched is worth seeing a football game in hd for.  Honestly, what good show is still made 4:3 anymore?

exactly, i my friend bought a 42" samsung (ED lol) plasma the same week i bought my 36" sony tube HDTV.

then he realized only 7 of his 400 channels display properly on his TV.

widescreen is good and all, just not enough support for me to plunge for a 16x9 unit

especially when i get the urge to connect up my snes or such

Congrats Ace! Panasonic makes some great TV\'s.

Also, I don\'t find watching 4:3 material on my widescreen set annoying in any way. I\'d never go back to 4:3, that\'s for sure.

Hey, I wasn\'t being rude.  I love plasmas.  I just wouldn\'t get one because I hate watching stretched video and the burn in factor on those darn things blows chimp nuts.

And yeah, most shows I watch now days actually are widescreen.  Only thing 4x3 I watch any more is news and some reality shows.

If you are getting a Direct TV receiver now, make sure they will update you to MPeg 4 in November for free.
