Shadow of the Colossus - demo
« on: September 23, 2005, 04:09:47 PM »
Has anyone played the demo of "Shadow of the Colossus" on the latest OPSM disk?

I am really looking forward to this refreshing change of pace game.  I just hope that the colossuses in the game are more of a challenge then the demo beast.

Yea apparently the time in between colossusi gets kind of boring and you have to admit the controls are a bit clunky when hanging on. And jump is the same as mount horse which is rough, heh.

But all in all, it\'s still fun and different. Worth getting excited about, but I\'m not as sold on it after playing it as I was when I read the concept.

Am I wrong, or are they going to have other puzzles and enemies besides the colossi in the game?

I think I read a section in the magazine that mentioned the "shadow creatures" from ICO returning in this game.

No there will be minutes of horseback between colossi with moments of what has been described as awkward platforming to get to them.

Damn, man that sucks.  I loved ICO and I was sooooo hoping for a fresh relaxing new style of game from the developers.  I will still buy the game.  I welcome new ideas for games and I\'m always excited when a company tries to bring something new to the table.

Some day there will be a person with a brand new idea that will make our games as innovative and entertaining as "Super Mario Brothers" or "Final Fantasy" were.

I wonder if games like "Second Life" will integrate themselves into RPG\'s in the future, or if we are doomed to be old gamers that always complain about the industry re-hashing the genres that have worked in the past.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn\'t the "mintues of horseback" also aimless wandering? I remember reading somewhere that you just rode until you found one of the colossi.

Can\'t say I am the least bit excited by this title.

Close, but it\'s not aimless.

Yea this game is a hell of a concept and it\'s unique, but I\'m afraid it\'s not as flawlessy executed as it needs to be to match its intentions. It\'s still cool and different, but it\'s not perfect.

In my opinion...
